PIEZO1 has been found to play a vital role in regulating intestinal epithelial cells (IEC) function and maintaining intestinal barrier in recent years. Therefore, IEC PIEZO1 might exert a significant impact on liver metabolism through the gut-liver axis, but there is no research on this topic currently. Classic high-fat diet (HFD) model and mice with IEC-specific deficiency of PIEZO1 ( ) were used to explore the problem.

Objective: To explore the effects of veno-venous extra corporeal carbon dioxide removal (V-V ECCOR) on local mechanical power and gas distribution in the lungs of patients with mild to moderate acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) receiving non-invasive ventilation.
Methods: Retrospective research methods were conducted. Sixty patients with mild to moderate ARDS complicated with renal insufficiency who were transferred to the respiratory intensive care unit (RICU) through the 96195 platform critical care transport green channel from January 2018 to January 2020 at the collaborative hospitals of Henan Provincial People's Hospital were enrolled.

Understanding the structure-property relationship and the way in which catalysts facilitate polysulfide conversion is crucial for the rational design of lithium-sulfur (Li-S) battery catalysts. Herein, a series of NiAlO, CoAlO, and CuAlO spinel oxides with varying Ni, Co, or Cu tetrahedral and octahedral site occupancy are studied as Li-S battery catalysts. Combined with experimental and theoretical analysis, the tetrahedral site is identified as the most active site for enhancing polysulfide adsorption and charge transfer.
