Intrinsically disordered proteins and protein regions are central to many biological processes but difficult to characterize at atomic resolution. Nuclear magnetic resonance is particularly well-suited for providing structural and dynamical information on intrinsically disordered proteins, but existing NMR methodologies need to be constantly refined to provide greater sensitivity and resolution, particularly to capitalise on the potential of high magnetic fields to investigate large proteins. In this paper, we describe how N-detected 2D NMR experiments can be optimised for better performance.

Fat distribution changes with advancing menopause, which predisposes to metabolic inflammation. However, it remains unclear, how health behaviours, including sleeping, eating and physical activity, or their combinations contribute to metabolic inflammation caused by visceral adipose tissue (VAT). The aim of the present study was to examine whether health behaviours are associated with metabolic inflammation and whether VAT mediates these associations in menopausal women.

Background/objectives: Disordered eating (DE) is a wide-spectrum condition, represented by altered eating patterns, behaviors, and attitudes aimed at controlling food intake, body weight, and shape, which does not necessarily satisfy the diagnostic criteria for an eating disorder of clinical severity. DE is frequently reported among athletes, but its prevalence and associated factors have not been fully elucidated. In this study, we intended to assess the prevalence of DE among adult athletes from different sports disciplines in Italy and Lebanon and to identify the factors associated with DE.

Objective: Weight suppression refers to the difference between one's current and highest previous weight in adulthood and has been associated with development of eating pathology. Previous research has been agnostic as to whether reported weight suppression reflects deliberate weight control behavior, and few studies have assessed whether weight loss that occurs unintentionally (e.g.

Sickle cell disease (SCD) is of global significance due to its severity and occurrence worldwide. Inheritance of the abnormal hemoglobin structure contributes to microvascular events that underlie the development of the multi-systemic complications seen in the disease pathogenesis. Pulmonary complications are common and heterogeneous including pulmonary hypertension, sleep-disordered breathing and lung function abnormalities.
