NaEuCuTiO and NaSmCuTiO dielectric ceramics were synthesized at different sintering temperatures (950, 975 and 1000 °C) by a solid-state reaction method. Phase structure, cation valence state, and dielectric properties of all sintered ceramics were systematically investigated. When the preparation temperature was changed, the Cu ion concentration of (Na, Eu) co-doped ceramics changed faster than that of (Na, Sm) co-doped ceramics.

The (Zn, Nb)-codoped TiO (called ZNTO) nanopowder was successfully synthesized by a simple combustion process and then the ceramic from it was sintered with a highly dense microstructure. The doped atoms were consistently distributed, and the existence of oxygen vacancies was verified by a Raman spectrum. It was found that the ZNTO ceramic was a result of thermally activated giant dielectric relaxation, and the outer surface layer had a slight effect on the dielectric properties.

Comparative Studies on Local Barrier Field Variations Above Field-Adsorbed Helium and Neon with a Micro-Probe Hole Field Ion Microscope.

Microsc Microanal

September 2022

Department of Applied Physics and Electronics, Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka City University, 3-3-138 Sugimoto, Sumiyoshi-ku, Osaka 558-8585, Japan.

The local field ion emission properties of helium and neon around a step edge atom of W(112) were examined at liquid nitrogen temperature using a micro-probe hole field ion microscope combined with a pulse-counting analysis. We have analyzed the mapped field ion densities obtained for both imaging gas atoms at their respective best local image voltages based on the formula for tunneling barrier strength and have evaluated the dipole moment of polarized adatom as well as the local field enhancement factor at the adatom site. We found that the dipole moments of helium and neon adatoms showed the same value, although the best local image field acting on the helium adatom is much higher than that on the neon adatom.

Changes in Surface Characteristics of BOPP Foil after Treatment by Ambient Air Plasma Generated by Coplanar and Volume Dielectric Barrier Discharge.

Polymers (Basel)

November 2021

Department of Physical Electronics, CEPLANT-R&D Centre for Plasma and Nanotechnology Surface Modifications, Faculty of Science, Masaryk University, Kotlářská 2, 611 37 Brno, Czech Republic.

Biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) is a highly transparent polymer defined by excellent mechanical and barrier properties applicable in the food packaging industry. However, its low surface free energy restricts its use in many industrial processes and needs to be improved. The presented study modifies a BOPP surface using two different atmospheric-pressure plasma sources operating in ambient air and capable of inline processing.

(Co, Nb) co-doped rutile TiO (CoNTO) nanoparticles with low dopant concentrations were prepared using a wet chemistry method. A pure rutile TiO phase with a dense microstructure and homogeneous dispersion of the dopants was obtained. By co-doping rutile TiO with 0.
