Metabolomics is the area of research, which strives to obtain complete metabolic fingerprints, to detect differences between them and to provide hypothesis to explain those differences (Schripsema J, Dagnino D, Handbook of chemical and biological plant analytical methods. Wiley, New York, 2015). However, obtaining complete metabolic fingerprints is not an easy task.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTungsten bronze oxides have emerged as attractive materials for energy storage owing to their fast charge-discharge property. However, the internal weakness of low capacity and short cycling performance impedes their development in wide application. In this work, the tungsten bronze WNbO nanorods with preferred orientation (001) were prepared by hydrothermal method for the first time.

In this study, we present an intelligent electromagnetic-actuated microfluidic chip integrated with a G-quadruplex DNAzyme-based biocatalysis platform for rapid and sensitive tetracycline (TC) detection. In this sensing system, TC significantly quenches fluorescent magnetic carbon dots (M-CDs) via the internal filtration effect and dynamic quenching (the excitation and emission wavelength at 350 and 440 nm, respectively). Then, the G-quadruplex on the M-CDs-Aptamer is exposed and bound with hemin to form hemin-G-quadruplex DNAzyme, catalyzing the conversion of 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine to produce blue color.

Background: Recognizing ACL injuries on the field and in the office can be very challenging in awake and apprehensive patients. Despite high specificity, many published "pivot-shift" techniques have limited acceptance mainly because of unsatisfactory sensitivity. We describe in detail, four specific modifications and provide a critical review of our clinical experiences to empower the new user's readiness to master a novel screening procedure for ACL disruption.

Background: Axial spondyloarthritis (SpA) leads to structural bone lesions in every part of the vertebral column. These lesions are only partially visualized on conventional radiographs, omitting posterior parts of the vertebral column and the thoracic spine, that may nevertheless contribute to impaired spinal mobility and function in patients with axial SpA.
Methods: In this prospective and blinded investigation, we assessed the distribution of structural spinal lesions using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the whole spine in 55 patients with axial SpA classified according to the Assessment in Spondyloarthritis International Society (ASAS) criteria.
