TiCT MXene nanoribbons@MnO: A novel multifunctional probe for colorimetric and fluorescence dual-response sensing of trichlorfon.

Talanta

December 2024

Key Laboratory of Modern Agricultural Equipment and Technology, Ministry of Education, School of Agricultural Engineering, Jiangsu University, Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, 212013, China; College of Agricultural Equipment Engineering, Henan University of Science and Technology, Luoyang, 471003, China. Electronic address:

Manganese dioxide nanosheets (MnO NSs) have garnered significant attention in analytical sensing, while the majority of the previous reports suffer from a complex preparation process involving reducing agents, template or high-temperature. In this work, a novel MnO NSs decorated TiCT MXene nanoribbons (TiCTNR@MnO) composite was firstly assemblied via a facile one-step strategy and applied as a bi-signal generator to enable colorimetric and fluorescence (FL) dual-response sensing. During the assembly process, TiCTNR innovatively acted as both reductant and carrier to prevent the aggregation of MnO NSs.

An overview of the nutritional quality and health benefits linked to the world diversity of citrus fruits/juices.

J Food Sci

December 2024

QualiSud, Univ. Montpellier, CIRAD, Institut Agro, Université d'Avignon, Université de La Réunion, Montpellier, France.

Citrus juices represent a nutrient-dense beverage due to the remarkable balance in their bioactive compounds (vitamins, minerals, dietary fibers, and phytochemicals such as flavonoids and carotenoids). This review aims to examine the nutritional quality and the health benefits of citrus juice consumption linked to the world diversity of citrus fruits. This work provides heterogenous data found on the main citrus bioactive compounds, especially carotenoids and flavonoids, which are difficult to correlate to particular geographic areas.

Gene expression profiling for the diagnosis of male breast cancer.

BMC Cancer

December 2024

Department of Pathology, Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center, and Shanghai Key Laboratory of Medical Epigenetics, International Co-laboratory of Medical Epigenetics and Metabolism, Institutes of Biomedical Sciences, Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University, Shanghai, China.

Background: Male breast cancer (MBC) is a rare malignancy, but its global incidence has shown a notable increase in recent decades. Factors such as limited health literacy, inadequate health education, and reluctance to seek medical attention contribute to the late-stage diagnosis of most MBC patients. Consequently, there is an urgent need for a highly specific and sensitive diagnostic approach to MBC.

Background: Human adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma (ACP) is a brain tumor that originates at the base of the skull and shows aggressive local behavior, invading sensitive structures such as the optic pathways and hypothalamus. The conventional treatment of the tumor has been surgery and radiotherapy with the consequent development of serious sequelae. It is well known that Substance P (SP) peptide and Neurokinin-1 receptor (NK-1R) are involved in inflammation and cancer progression and its blockage with NK-1R antagonists has been shown to effectively counteract tumor development in preclinical trials.
