Since hydrogen is a promising alternative to fossil fuels due to its high energy density and environmental friendliness, water electrolysis for hydrogen production has received widespread attentions wherein the development of active and stable catalytic materials is a key research direction. This article designs a dual transition metal doped functional graphene for hydrogen evolution reaction via density functional theory calculations. Among varied combinations, 16 candidates are screened out that are expected to be stable as reflected by the criterion of formation energy Ef < 0 and active due to its free energy of hydrogen adsorption ∆GH within the window of ±0.

The development of high-brightness electron sources is critical to state-of-the-art electron accelerator applications like X-ray free electron laser (XFEL) and ultra-fast electron microscopy. Cesium telluride is chosen as the electron source material for multiple cutting-edge XFEL facilities worldwide. This manuscript presents the first demonstration of the growth of highly crystalized and epitaxial cesium telluride thin films on 4H-SiC and graphene/4H-SiC substrates with ultrasmooth film surfaces.

The practical applications of all-solid-state batteries (ASSBs) are hindered by poor Li kinetics in electrodes due to the inadequate contact between the cathode active materials (CAMs) and solid-state electrolytes (SSEs). Therefore, improving the contact interface between CAMs and SSEs is necessary to improve the cathodic Li kinetics by increasing the lithium-ion transport sites. To address this issue, sub-micrometer LiPSCl (SU-LPSC) particles of high specific areas were utilized to fabricate cathodes with high mass loading.

Recent studies have explored its role in neuroprotection, cognitive enhancement, and neural plasticity. This study investigates the effects of elevated blood lactate levels, induced by acute exercise, on visual evoked potentials (VEPs), which reflect neural activity in the visual cortex.

Context: 3,4-Bis(3-nitrofurazan-4-yl) furoxan (DNTF) is a typical low-melting-point, high-energy-density compound that can serve as a cast carrier explosive. Therefore, understanding the safety of DNTF under different casting processes is of great significance for its efficient application. This study employed molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the effects of temperature and pressure on the self-diffusion characteristics and mechanical sensitivity of DNTF.
