Perchlorate (ClO) is a pervasive, harmful, and inert anion on both Earth and Mars. Current technologies for ClO reduction entail either harsh conditions or multicomponent enzymatic processes. Herein, we report a heterogeneous ()Mo-Pd/C catalyst directly prepared from NaMoO, a bidentate nitrogen ligand (), and Pd/C to reduce aqueous ClO into Cl with 1 atm of H at room temperature.

In recent years, considering the increasing use of antibiotics, and their continued entry into the environment, extensive research has been conducted on the impact of antibiotics on human health, water resources, and the environment. In this study, a suitable method has been proposed for detecting and elimination the trace amounts of the antibiotic cloxacillin in aqueous. For identify trace amounts of cloxacillin in solution, a new electrochemical nanosensor based on a screen printed carbon electrode (SPCE) modified with gold nanorods/graphene oxide was proposed.

In the present research, the application of a polypyrrole coating on FeO magnetic nanoparticles (PPy/FeO MNPs) as a sorbent was confirmed. The synthesized magnetic composites were characterized by TEM, FTIR spectroscopy, and XRD. Reaction bifurcation processes are often encountered in the oxidation of substrates by enzymes and generally lead to a mixture of products. One particular bifurcation process that is common in biology relates to electron transfer versus oxygen atom transfer by high-valent iron(IV)-oxo complexes, which nature uses for the oxidation of metabolites and drugs. In biomimicry and bioremediation, an important reaction relates to the detoxification of ClO in water, which can lead to a mixture of products through bifurcated reactions.
