Over the past decade, semiconducting halide perovskite lasers have emerged as a transformative platform in optoelectronics, owing to unique properties such as high photoluminescence quantum yields, tunable bandgaps, and low-cost fabrication processes. This review systematically examines the advancements in halide perovskite lasers, covering diverse laser architectures, such as whispering gallery mode, Fabry-Pérot, plasmonic, bound states in the continuum (BIC), quantum dot, and polariton lasers. The mechanisms of optical gain, the role of material engineering in optimizing lasing performance, and the challenges associated with continuous-wave (CW) pumping and electrically driven lasing are discussed.

Topologically Engineered High- Quasi-BIC Metasurfaces for Enhanced Near-Infrared Emission in PbS Quantum Dots.

Enhancing photoluminescence (PL) efficiency in colloidal quantum dots is pivotal for next-generation near-infrared photodetectors, imaging systems, and photonic devices. Conventional methods, especially metal-based plasmonic structures, suffer from large optical losses, which limits their practical use. Here, we introduce a quasi-bound state in the continuum (quasi-BIC) metasurface on a silicon-on-insulator platform, tailored to provide high-quality factor resonances with minimized losses.

Fluorophores that respond to external stimuli, such as changes in pH, have utility in bio-imaging and sensing applications. Almost all pH-responsive fluorophores rely on complex syntheses and the use of pH-responsive functional groups that are peripheral to the fluorophore framework. In this work, pH-responsive boron-containing heterocycles based on tridentate acyl pyridylhydrazone ligands were prepared.

The and isomers of [Sm(dicyclohexano-18-crown-6)(HO)]I exhibiting water molecules bound to the Sm ion have been isolated and characterized. Sm possesses an electrochemical potential sufficient for water reduction, and thus these complexes add to the recent body of evidence that the oxidation of Sm by water can operate by a mechanism that is not straightforward. These complexes are obtained by the direct addition of stoichiometric amounts of water to solutions of the respective Sm(dicyclohexano-18-crown-6)I isomers under an inert atmosphere.

Monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides are promising materials that not only are atomically thin but also have direct bandgaps, making them highly regarded in optics and optoelectronics. However, their photoluminescence exhibits almost random polarization at room temperature. The emission is also omnidirectional and weak due to the low quantum yield.
