Neurodegeneration in glaucoma patients is clinically identified through longitudinal assessment of structure-function changes, including intraocular pressure, cup-to-disc ratios from fundus images, and optical coherence tomography imaging of the retinal nerve fiber layer. Use of human post-mortem ocular tissue for basic research is rising in the glaucoma field, yet there are challenges in assessing disease stage and severity, since tissue donations with informed consent are often unaccompanied by detailed pre-mortem clinical information. Further, the interpretation of disease severity based solely on anatomical and morphological assessments by histology can be affected by differences in death-to-preservation time and tissue processing.

In laser safety eyewear, due to the lack of complete blocking of ultraviolet and infrared rays, we proposed a structure based on one-dimensional multilayer composed of several layers of silicon dioxide and zirconium dioxide materials alternately behind polycarbonate lens. It is find out that the acceptance angle range to the photonic crystal is 0 to 39°. This incident angle range corresponds to the band gap of the photonic crystal.

There is a lack of evidence regarding associations of eye-level greenness exposure with blood pressure among children. We aimed to investigate the associations between eye-level greenness of different types and pediatric blood pressure in China. From 2012 to 2013, we recruited 9354 children aged between 5 and 17 years in northeast China.

Background: Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is characterized by elevated pulmonary artery pressure and vascular resistance, leading to systemic venous hypertension and potential right heart failure. These elevated pressures can extend to ocular veins, resulting in complications such as central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO). This case report highlights a rare instance of CRVO combined with cilioretinal artery occlusion (CilRAO), an uncommon ocular manifestation associated with PAH.

Motivated by the importance of Hg detection in water due to its harmful effect on the environment and human health, we investigated a recently developed nanocomposite based on carbon dots (CDs) and LAPONITE as an optical chemical sensor using photoluminescence emission. While several studies have reported the Hg detection using CDs' photoluminescence emission, there is a lack of in-depth investigation into the quenching mechanisms involved in turn-off sensors. In this study, we propose a Stern-Volmer analysis at three different temperatures (288, 298, and 303 K).
