Novel reliable biomarkers of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are clinically imperative due to potential limitations of endoscopic techniques. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have emerged as non-invasive biomarkers of IBD; however, the full disease-specific miRNAs signature for IBD subtypes remains elusive. Mentalizing and resilience have been previously identified as potential protective factors against the onset of mental health difficulties following such events.
Method: This study first identified the prevalence of PTSD symptoms, depression, anxiety, and stress and subsequently assessed mentalizing abilities and resilience as predictors of PTSD symptomatology in a sample of 521 Lebanese participants following the Beirut Port explosion on August 4, 2020.
The placenta serves as the interface between the maternal and fetal circulations and regulates the transfer of oxygen, nutrients, and waste products. When exogenous substances are present in the maternal bloodstream-whether from environmental contact, occupational exposure, medication, or drug abuse-the extent to which this exposure affects the fetus is determined by transport and biotransformation processes in the placental barrier. Advances in drug delivery strategies are expected to improve the treatment of maternal and fetal diseases encountered during pregnancy.

Aim: To study the relation between adiponectin level with glycemic control and complication of diabetes.
Patients And Methods: The study included 40 female adolescent type 1 diabetic patients and 40 healthy volunteers of the same age and sex. Blood sample was taken for assessment of glycosylated hemoglobin, lipid profile and adiponectine.
Unlabelled: Oxidative stress, characterized by a marked increase in the level of oxygen free radicals (OFR), has been implicated in the development of diabetic microangiopathic complications, such as diabetic neuropathy (DN) and nephropathy (DP). Antioxidant enzymes may protect against the rapid onset and progression of microangiopathy, by reducing the excess of OFR and peroxides. Mutations and polymorphisms in genes encoding such enzymes may therefore result in a predisposition to this disorder.

We reviewed the medical records of 288 children and adolescents with chronic ITP between 1980 and 1996: 112 were splenectomized; 59 were steroid resistant and 42 were steroid dependent, and 11 were managed with repeated courses of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG).
