Endometrial ossification is a rare and benign pathology. The etiopathogenesis of this pathology is controversial. Findings suggestive of diagnosis are fairly well know, menstrual irregularities is the main clinical symptoms, expulsion of bony fragments is a rare but pathognomonic event.

[The Dalkon Shield, a forgotten device, responsible for actinomycosis].

The authors report a case of a Dalkon Shield, forgot in a 55 years old patient, responsible for actinomycosis infection. Basing on a review of the literature, diagnostic methods and management of this kind of complication are discussed.
