Background: Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus (CCHFV) is endemic in Iraq, where recurrent epidemics have been constantly observed during the last five years. The present study aimed to determine the factors associated with Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) cases in Dhi Qar province during the year 2022.

Methods: A test-negative case-control design was used to analyze 621 CCHF patients, of which 162 were confirmed and 459 were suspected cases.

Objective: This study aimed to determine the prevalence of dental midline shifting in a group of children with mixed dentition aged 7-15 years in Babylon/Iraq and assess the association between different variables including gender, age stages, residency, and Angle's classes of malocclusions with midline shifting.

Materials And Method: A total of 300 dentate children aged 7-15 years (119 males and 131 females) were randomly chosen from children who visited the Department of Orthodontics, Pedodontics, and Prevention at the College of Dentistry/University of Babylon. The participants were from various environmental areas (162 urban and 88 rural area subjects).

Deafness is a total or partial hearing loss that may appear at any age and with different degrees of severity. Approximately 50% of hearing loss have a genetic origin, and among them, non-syndromic sensorineural deafness represents about 70% of the cases. From them, 80% correspond to autosomal recessive inheritance deafness.

In this paper, we propose a novel method for boundary detection in close-range hyperspectral images. This method can effectively predict the boundaries of objects of similar colour but different materials. To effectively extract the material information in the image, the spatial distribution of the spectral responses of different materials or endmembers is first estimated by hyperspectral unmixing.

In human gamete development, the important period is spermatogenesis, which is organized by specific genes on Y chromosome. In some cases, the infertile men have shown microdeletions on Y chromosome, which seemed as if the structural chromosome variance is linked to the reduction of sperm count. This study aimed to determine the frequency and patterns of Y chromosome microdeletions in azoospermia factor (AZF) of Iraqi infertile males.

Although Kuwait is greatly impacted by sand and dust storms (SDS) from Southern Iraq, to date little is known about the nature of these storms. Kuwait is vulnerable to SDS trajectories from the middle Euphrates region, specifically, from two "hot spot" areas (Al-Batha and Mamlahat Al-Samawah) of 4550 km located 250 km from its northern border. This study explores the transboundary SDS jets originating from Southern Iraq using Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) images obtained from Aqua and Terra satellites over a twelve-year period (2007-2018).

Spectral-spatial feature extraction is an important task in hyperspectral image processing. In this paper we propose a novel method to extract distinctive invariant features from hyperspectral images for registration of hyperspectral images with different spectral conditions. Spectral condition means images are captured with different incident lights, viewing angles, or using different hyperspectral cameras.

Objective: The aim of this study is to assess the possible role of autosomal C-band size polymorphism in male infertility.

Methods: Two-hundred male patients with clinical diagnosis of infertility and 100 normal controls were included in the present investigation. All patients were assessed by Urologist Consultant at the Department of Pathology and Forensic Medicine, Kufa University, Kufa, Iraq, during a 2-year-period, October 1999 to October 2001.

The granuloma-tissue formation inhibiting activity of various fractions of an extract of the aerial parts of Withania somnifera were established using subcutaneous cotton-pellet implantation in rats. Antiinflammatory activity was retained in the methanolic fractions of the plant extract and was comparable to that of a 5 mg/kg dose of hydrocortisone sodium succinate. Activity was attributed to the high content of biologically active steroids in the plant, of which withaferin A is known to be a major component.
