Anti-human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) broadly neutralizing antibodies (bNAbs) offer a promising approach for the treatment of HIV-1. The current paradigm for antibody therapy involves passive antibody transfer, requiring regular delivery of bNAbs in treating chronic diseases such as HIV-1. An alternative strategy is to use AAV-mediated gene transfer to enable in vivo production of desirable anti-HIV-1 antibodies.

The lack of oxygen (O) causes changes in the cell functioning. Modeling hypoxic conditions is challenging given that different cell types exhibit different sensitivities to tissue O levels. We present an effective platform for assessing various tissue and organ parameters in larvae under acute hypoxic conditions.

It was demonstrated that melatonin and its analogues 1-3 effectively reduce the total protein concentration in the vitreous body of rat pups, decrease concentration of VEGF-A, and lower the level of oxidative stress (as indicated by normalization of antioxidant activity in the vitreous body). Melatonin and its analogues 1-3 equally normalize the level of VEGF-A.
