A comparative analysis of morphological and functional changes in the adrenal glands after embolization of supplying arteries with Lifepearl microspheres (100±25 μm; Terumo) and with a solution of polidocanol (Aethoxysklerol, Kreussler Pharma) was performed in male Vietnamese Lop-Bellied pigs (n=20). The introduction of the microspheres into the arterial bed did not affect the adrenal parenchyma. However, the injection of the liquid sclerosing agent caused foci of productive inflammation leading to the formation of sclerotic tissue and reduction of the volume of glandular tissue.

In order to assess efficacy of open thrombectomy for embologenic iliofemoral venous thromboses we carried out comparison of the results of open thrombectomy and implantation of cava filters in a total of 119 patients presenting with iliofemoral thrombosis.
Patients And Methods: Open thrombectomy was performed in a total of 59 patients.
Mycological investigation of the Japanese scallop Mizuhopecten yessoensis (Jay) (Bivalvia) collected in different areas of the Peter the Great Bay, Sea of Japan, was carried out. A total of 72 species of filamentous fungi belonging to 30 genera of ascomycetes, anamorphous fungi, and zygomycetes was isolated from the internal organs of the scallop. The species.

Material And Methods: Maximal systolic longitudinal strain was compared in patients with sigmoid IVS (SIVS) and in 21 patients of the control group.
Results: Compared to controls, patients with SIVS have significantly greater global longitudinal systolic LV strain in two septal segments in the region of sigmoid-shape IVS.
The present work was undertaken to evaluate a new minimally invasive method of surgical management of varicose disease by means of the TriVex unit. The method is based on transillumination of saphenous veins in an aqueous medium, which makes it possible to perform radical removal thereof form separate punctures under visual control with the help of a specially designed vein stripper. Transillumination-assisted phlebectomy (TIP) was compared with microphlebectomy (MPE) according to the Varady's technique.

A selection of cell aggregates of BK-39 culture on a medium containing p-fluorophenylalanine (PFP) yields a cell line possessing a higher resistance to the inhibitor than the initial culture. Selected BK-39F cultures produced almost the same profile of shikonin naphthoquinones as the initial culture.

In the hypoendemic focus, increased IgE content was observed mostly in young people, and in the hyperendemic focus it was in middle-aged and old people, this parameter correlating with decreased levels of gastrin and insulin in the serum. Gastric basal acid secretion was decreased in more than 70% patients from the both groups.

It has been found that the biological activity of these PG was considerably weaker than that of PG taken from the liver, mammary gland and spleen of cattle. PG from 22a hepatoma produced a weaker tissue-specific antimitotic effect as against PG from the liver when acting on the liver cells of 6-day C57Bl mice, while the lymphoma PG under these conditions was ineffective.

In 99.5% cases, the cells have an additional small chromosome specific for this type of leukemia, the chromosome being comparable in size with 18-19 pairs of chromosomes of mouse karyotype.

The effect of this proteoglycan was tissue but not species specific. We failed to isolate this proteoglycan from the liver of newborn rats, thus suggesting that either this substance is not produced by the cells of newborn animals or is produced in insignificant quantities.

By means of the differential staining technique of chromosomes, large variations in chromosome numbers were found in the karyotypes of leucotic cells of different generations, and the formation of cell clones containing different marker chromosomes as well as the dominance of a hyperdiploid clone with 41-42 chromosomes was revealed. Chromosome analysis of such hyperdiploid cells of the 150th generation has indicated that the supernumerary chromosomes (in 88.
