Electrolytic manganese slag (EMR) is a solid waste generated in the manganese hydrometallurgy process. It not only takes up significant land space but also contains Mn, which can lead to environmental contamination. There is a need for research on the treatment and utilization of EMR.

The results showed that:① The application of pomace biochar could significantly improve the yield and quality of Chinese cabbage, and the effect was the best at a 5 % biochar application rate. The yield, soluble solids, soluble sugar, vitamin C, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and total potassium content of Chinese cabbage increased by 71.
