Radiotherapy is one of the main options to cure and control breast cancer. The aim of this study was to investigate the sensitivity of two human breast cancer cell lines, MCF7 and MDA-MD-231, to radiation exposure at timepoints 4 h and 24 h after radiation. MCF7 and MDA-MD-231 were irradiated with different radiation doses using a Gilardoni CHF 320 G X-ray generator (Mandello del Lario, Italy) at 250 kVp, 15 mA [with half-value layer (HVL) = 1.

Modified top-down procedure was successfully employed in the synthesis of aragonite nanoparticles (NPs) from cheaply available natural seawater cockle shells. This was with the aim of developing a pH-sensitive nano-carrier for effective delivery of doxorubicin (DOX) on MCF-7 breast cancer cell line. The shells were cleaned with banana pelts, ground using a mortar and pestle, and stirred vigorously on a rotary pulverizing blending machine in dodecyl dimethyl betane solution.

Article Synopsis
  • Tissue recovery plays a crucial role in preventing tissue deterioration and pressure ulcers, with reactive hyperaemia (RH) being used to identify people at risk.
  • This study examined how different recovery times (3, 10, and 40 minutes) impact RH trends during repetitive loading in male rats under controlled conditions.
  • Results showed that as recovery time increased, fewer samples exhibited an increasing RH trend while more samples showed inconsistent trends, suggesting that adequate recovery time is vital in preventing pressure ulcers.
