Objective: To evaluate safety, efficacy, pre- and postoperative outcomes of vNOTES hysterectomy compared to conventional laparoscopic (CL) hysterectomy.
Material And Methods: This prospective study was conducted on patients who underwent CL or vNOTES hysterectomy for benign gynecological indications between January and July 2021. Sociodemographic, clinical, and surgical data were collected.
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, which has caused a major global health crisis, primarily targets the upper and lower respiratory tract. But infected individuals may experience different clinical symptoms, ranging from asymptomatic to critical. The vitamin D receptor (VDR) and Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) polymorphisms play a role in the immune response.

Material And Methods: The study consisted of eleven patients aged 70 and over who underwent vNOTES for a variety of gynaecological indications at a tertiary referral hospital. The medical and surgical data were noted: age, parity, history of comorbidity, number and type of previous surgeries, body mass index (BMI), operating time, the requirement of intraoperative conversion, the presence of intra- or postoperative complication, estimated blood loss, pre-and postoperative hemoglobin levels, visual analog scale (VAS) pain scores at 6th, 12th and 24th hours, length of hospital stay, and the final pathology results.
Objective: Newborns are vulnerable to all types of infections due to their developing immune system. To compensate for their immune immaturity, newborns rely on the passive transfer of antibodies through the placenta and own mother's breast milk (BM). In the present study, we investigated whether vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 leads to the presence of antibodies in BM.

Objectives: Chronic systemic diseases (CSD) and cancer are closely related to the clinical course, severity and mortality of COVID-19 due to the immunosuppressive conditions caused by these diseases. The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences between the effects of cancer and CSD on the clinical and laboratory parameters of patients with COVID-19.
Methods: The study included patients who received inpatient treatment with the diagnosis of COVID-19 at Ondokuz Mayıs University between March 16, 2020, and December 1, 2020.
Invasive fungal infections (IFI) continue to be an important cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with hematological malignancies. Candida and Aspergillus species constitute most of the IFI in these patients..

Methods: COVID-19 patients ( = 138) and 90 healthy controls were included in the study. The Consensus Auditory-Perceptual Evaluation of Voice (CAPE-V) was used to grade voice samples based on overall severity, roughness, breathiness, strain, pitch, and loudness.
MNX1 encodes a homeobox transcription factor with conserved embryonic requirements in spinal motor neuron formation and pancreatic beta-cell differentiation. Mutations in MNX1 are associated with dominantly inherited Currarino syndrome and neonatal diabetes. To better understand embryonic MNX1 functions we generated an hiPSC-1 knock-in line heterozygously expressing MNX1 C-terminally tagged with 2xTY1 together with a T2A-separated red fluorescent reporter mScarlet.

It is known that in terms of bioelectronics there are significant advantages to functional biofilms which are formed as a result of the interaction between different layer biomolecules. In this study, κ-carrageenan (κ-CG) was employed as the polyanion for the construction of the electroactive multilayer protein thin films.

Materials And Methods: The patients diagnosed with CA-UTIs caused by or spp. were included in the study.
Introduction: Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) can also be transmitted through unprotected contact directly with blood or body fluids as well as from laboratories. This study aimed to determine the seroprevalence of CCHF disease in the employees of the State Hospital of Yozgat Province, located in Central Anatolia of Turkey, and also to present the risk factors for healthcare workers.
Methodology: A total of 112 volunteer employees of Yozgat State Hospital were included in the study.
Melanins are ubiquitous but their complexity and insolubility has hindered characterization of their structures and functions. We are developing electrochemical reverse engineering methodologies that focus on properties and especially on redox properties. Previous studies have shown that melanins (i) are redox-active and can rapidly and repeatedly exchange electrons with diffusible oxidants and reductants, and (ii) have redox potentials in midregion of the physiological range.

It is transmitted by , starts with acute onset of high fever, and lasts for three days. We present first cases in a different district of Turkey with the clinical findings of fever, myalgia-arthralgia, headache, gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhoea and nausea-vomiting and skin lesions (in two of them).

Chronic inflammatory demyelinating neuropathy, a treatable immune-mediated disease of the peripheral nervous system is less common in childhood compared to adults. Despite different sets of diagnostic criteria, lack of a reliable biologic marker leads to challenges in diagnosis, follow-up and treatment. Our first aim was to review clinical presentation, course, response to treatment, and prognosis in our childhood patients.

With the increase in multi-drug resistance of A. baumannii isolates, finding appropriate treatment alternatives for infections caused by these bacteria has become more difficult, and available alternate treatments include the use of older antibiotics such as colistin or a combination of antibiotics.

Background: Hepatitis A virus (HAV) can cause significant pathology in patients with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV), however, HAV can be prevented by vaccination. The aim of this study was to determine the implication of vaccination against HAV vaccine in patients with chronic hepatitis B.
Materials And Methods: The seroprevalence of anti-HAV IgG antibodies was investigated in the patients with chronic hepatitis B.
Polymyxins have recently reemerged as a treatment option in response to the increasing number of resistant bacterial infections seen in recent years. Therefore, the current study aimed to determine the rate of and risk factors related to colistin-associated nephrotoxicity. All adult patients who had received colistimethate sodium (CMS) between 2010 and 2012 and met the inclusion criteria were included in the study.

Methods: After obtaining the approval of Animal Ethics Committee; 96 BALB/c albino male mice were divided into 12 groups: (I) control without injection, (II) control treated with saline, (III)-(IV) mice treated with tramadol 10 mg/kg or 30 mg/kg, (V)-(VIII) mice treated with gabapentin; 30, 100, 200, 300 mg/kg respectively. In order to determine possible interactions between tramadol gabapentin and; mice received four different combinations of tramadol + gabapentin (30+30, 30+100, 30+200 and 30+300 mg/kg) (Groups IX-XII respectively).
Having been activated with glutaraldehyde, modified poly(ethylene terephthalate) grafted acrylamide fiber was used for the immobilization of horseradish peroxidase (HRP). Both the free HRP and the immobilized HRP were characterized by determining the activity profile as a function of pH, temperature, thermal stability, effect of organic solvent and storage stability. The optimum pH values of the enzyme activity were found as 8 and 7 for the free HRP and the immobilized HRP respectively.
