This subtype is associated with significant heterogeneity, chemoresistance, early recurrence, metastasis, and poor patient survival. FOXM1 is a cancer-promoting transcription factor that plays a critical role in TNBC and other highly aggressive cancers by driving cell proliferation, invasion, metastasis, and drug resistance.

Bilateral epithelial keratopathy and punctate keratitis due to ribociclib.

Introduction: This report describes a rare occurrence of corneal epithelial keratopathy associated with ribociclib, a cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 (CDK4/6) inhibitor widely used in breast cancer treatment.

Case Report: An 83-year-old female with a recent breast cancer diagnosis presented with blurred vision during the third cycle of ribociclib treatment. Ocular examination revealed corneal epitheliopathy and fluorescein staining findings.

The oncogenic transcription factor FOXM1 overexpressed in breast and other solid cancers, is a key driver of tumor growth and progression through complex interactions, making it an attractive molecular target for the development of targeted therapies. Despite the availability of small-molecule inhibitors, their limited specificity, potency, and efficacy hinder clinical translation. To identify effective FOXM1 inhibitors, we synthesized novel benzothiazole derivatives (KC10-KC13) and benzothiazole hybrids with thiazolidine-2,4-dione (KC21-KC36).

Purpose: To evaluate the findings and the correlation of optical coherence tomography angiography and pattern and flash electroretinography in diabetes mellitus without retinopathy.

Methods: Seventy-six eyes of 38 diabetic patients and age- and gender-matched control subjects were included in the study. The foveal avascular zone (FAZ), whole, foveal, parafoveal and perifoveal vascular densities of the superficial capillary plexus (SCP), deep capillary plexus (DCP) and choriocapillary plexus (CCP) layers were analyzed using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA).

The effects of iodine 131 treatment on chromosomal and oxidative DNA damage in papillary thyroid carcinoma.

Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is a common endocrine cancer with a good prognosis. Radioactive iodine is thought to be useful for individuals who have had a total or almost total thyroidectomy, but its effects are still controversial. The effects of radioactive iodine-131 (I-131) treatment on oxidative and chromosomal damage in PTC patients were examined in this study, which was carried out with 16 patients newly diagnosed with PTC and 20 healthy control subjects with similar age and gender.

FOXM1, a proto-oncogenic transcription factor, plays a critical role in cancer development and treatment resistance in cancers, particularly in breast cancer. Thus, this study aimed to identify potential FOXM1 inhibitors through computational screening of drug databases, followed by in vitro validation of their inhibitory activity against breast cancer cells. In silico studies involved pharmacophore modeling using the FOXM1 inhibitor, FDI-6, followed by virtual screening of DrugBank and Selleckchem databases.

Biological Effects and Crystal X-Ray Study of Novel Schiff Base Containing Pentafluorophenyl Hydrazine: In Vitro and in Silico Studies.

A novel Schiff base namely 3,5-di-tert-butyl-6-((2-(perfluorophenyl)hydrazono)methyl)phenol was successfully synthesized and characterized using FT-IR and H-NMR, C-NMR, and F-NMR. The crystal structure analysis of the Schiff base compound was also characterized with single crystal X-ray diffraction studies and supported the spectroscopic results. The cytotoxicity, anti-bacterial properties, and enzyme inhibition of the compound were also investigated.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) remains one of the most challenging solid cancers to treat due to its highly aggressive and drug-resistant nature. Flavopiridol is synthetic flavone that was recently approved by the FDA for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia. Flavopiridol exhibits antiproliferative activity in several solid cancer cells and currently evaluated in clinical trials in several solid and hematological cancers.

Synthesis, characterization, and biological properties of novel Schiff bases containing pentafluorophenyl hydrazine.

In the present study, new Schiff bases derived from pentafluorophenyl-hydrazine (L1, L2, L3, L4) were synthesized and their structures were characterized by H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR), C NMR, F NMR, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and elemental analysis methods. Then, the anticancer activities of the obtained compounds were investigated using three human cancer cell lines (A2780, over; Caco-2, colon; and HT-29 colon carcinoma cell lines). According to the obtained cytotoxicity results, compound number L4 was found to have the highest anticancer activity in A2780 (over) and Caco-2 (colon) cell lines.

Background: The desire to attain ideal body dimensions determined by the society causes internal pressure and negative emotional intensity in young people, and this leads to mood disorders. It was aimed to examine the relationship between university students' perceived body weights and their depression, anxiety, and stress levels.

Methods: This cross-sectional, descriptive study was conducted with 950 university students at Uskudar University in Istanbul, Turkey during the 2021-2022 academic year.

Crop wild relatives (CWRs), landraces and exotic germplasm are important sources of genetic variability, alien alleles, and useful crop traits that can help mitigate a plethora of abiotic and biotic stresses and crop yield reduction arising due to global climatic changes. In the pulse crop genus , the cultivated varieties have a narrow genetic base due to recurrent selections, genetic bottleneck and linkage drag. The collection and characterization of wild germplasm resources have offered new avenues for the genetic improvement and development of stress-tolerant, climate-resilient lentil varieties with sustainable yield gains to meet future food and nutritional requirements.

Mother-child interactions among children with visual impairment: Addressing maternal attachment style, depression-anxiety symptoms, and child's behavioral problems.

Objective: The birth of a visually impaired child leads to stress, disappointment, and medical challenges for the family due to the economic and financial costs, unmet expectations of other family members, and social embarrassment-isolation of the family from society. In these families, mothers are exposed to the stressors more often than other family members, because, in most families, they are the primary caregivers. In this study, we examined the relationship between maternal attachment styles, maternal depression and anxiety levels, and behavioral problems of children with visual impairment.

A Perspective Review on Understanding Drought Stress Tolerance in Wild Banana Genetic Resources of Northeast India.

The enormous perennial monocotyledonous herb banana ( spp.), which includes dessert and cooking varieties, is found in more than 120 countries and is a member of the order Zingiberales and family Musaceae. The production of bananas requires a certain amount of precipitation throughout the year, and its scarcity reduces productivity in rain-fed banana-growing areas due to drought stress.

Which type of female urinary incontinence has more impact on pelvic floor and sexual function in addition to anxiety and depression symptoms: A questionnaire-based study.

Purpose: To evaluate pelvic floor and sexual dysfunction, and anxiety and depression symptoms in females with different urinary incontinence (UI) types.

Materials And Methods: A cross sectional evaluation was made of 73 patients diagnosed with UI in the Urology Clinic between December 2021 and November 2022. In addition to demographic data, the points were recorded from the International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Female Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (ICIQ-FLUTS), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), and the Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory-20 (PFDI-20).
