Starting from 6-phenyl-2,2'-bipyridine, the step-by-step full sequence of reactions has been followed, leading to the unprecedented 3-methyl-6-phenyl-2,2'-bipyridine, which was isolated and fully characterized. The synthesis involves the following steps: (1) rollover cyclometalation to give the starting complex [Pt(N^C)(DMSO)Me]; (2) the synthesis of a more electron-rich complex [Pt(N^C)(PPh)Me] by the substitution of DMSO with triphenylphosphine; (3) oxidative addition with methyl iodide to give the Pt(IV) complex [Pt(N^C)(PPh)(Me)(I)]; (4) iodide abstraction with silver tetrafluoborate to give an unstable pentacoordinate intermediate, which rapidly evolves through a carbon-carbon reductive coupling, forming a new C(sp)-C(sp) bond; (5) finally, the extrusion and characterization of the newly formed 3-methyl-6-phenyl-2,2'-bipyridine.

Australian general practitioners (GPs) were surveyed to explore their perceptions, attitudes and practices in introducing ACP during 75+ health assessments.
Methods: A cross-sectional postal survey of Australian GPs covering their personal, professional and workplace characteristics, their current practice regarding ACP within a 75+ health assessment, and their attitude towards ACP.
Experiments on disordered alloys suggest that spin glasses can be brought into low-energy states faster by annealing quantum fluctuations than by conventional thermal annealing. Owing to the importance of spin glasses as a paradigmatic computational testbed, reproducing this phenomenon in a programmable system has remained a central challenge in quantum optimization. In total, 41 (64%) aspects of care were endorsed as optimal. Of these, almost three-quarters (73%) were received by most patients (80% or more).
