Article Synopsis
  • Flue-curing and redrying are crucial steps in tobacco processing, affecting microbial activity that influences fermentation.
  • A study identified nearly 6,400 variations of fungi across different tobacco processing stages, highlighting dominant genera like Alternaria and Sampaiozyma.
  • The research reveals that major molds are enriched after flue-curing, showing that processing significantly alters fungal communities, which is important for mildew control during fermentation.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how the processes of flue-curing and redrying affect the bacterial community structure in tobacco leaves, which impacts their aging quality.
  • Using Illumina sequencing, researchers identified a diverse range of bacterial communities across different processing stages, with Proteobacteria being the dominant phylum and key genera such as Sphingomonas and Pseudomonas present in all samples.
  • Results indicated that flue-curing significantly influenced the microbial community more than redrying, suggesting potential for better tobacco leaf quality through understanding these microbial changes.

Microorganisms play an important role in the tobacco aging process. Before the aging process, raw tobacco leaves must be threshed and redried. In order to explore the differences of microbial community structure of threshed and redried tobacco leaves from different origins at home and abroad, 14 groups of tobacco leaves from 8 different countries were tested by high-throughput DNA sequencing and microbiology analysis.

Immersive projection display system is widely adopted in virtual reality and various exhibition halls. How to maintain high display quality in an immersive projection environment with uneven illumination and the color deviation caused by the inter-reflection of light is still a challenging task. In this paper, we innovatively propose a deep learning-based radiation compensation for an L-shaped projector-camera system.

The pectin methylesterases (PMEs) play multiple roles in regulating plant development and responses to various stresses. In our study, a total of 121 genes were identified in the tobacco genome, which were clustered into two groups based on phylogenetic analysis together with members. The investigations of gene structure and conserved motif indicated that exon/intron and motif organizations were relatively conserved in each group.

Stagonosporopsis cucurbitacearum is an important plant-pathogenic fungus that causes stem and leaf blight diseases in a variety of crops. Here, we report the characterization of a novel victorivirus, tentatively named "Stagonosporopsis cucurbitacearum victorivirus 1" (ScVV-1), isolated from the S. cucurbitacearum isolate M-7.
