Yessotoxin (YTX) is a disulfated toxin produced by harmful dinoflagellates and causes risks to aquatic animals. Polystyrene (PS) microplastics could absorb toxins in seawaters but pose threats to organism growth. In this study, the combined toxic effects of YTX (0, 20, 50, and 100 µg L) and PS (0, 5, and 10 µg mL) on the survival, reproduction, and population growth of marine rotifer Brachionus plicatilis at 20 °C, 25 °C, and 30 °C were evaluated.

Investigation of super-resolution in microsphere-assisted microscopy with the Poynting vector of the dipole model.

In this paper, the Fourier spectrum of an image in microsphere-assisted microscopy (MAM) and the wavenumber decomposition of the Poynting vector of the dipole model are compared for the first time to study the super-resolution performance within several wavelengths in MAM. Firstly, an experiment using microsphere-assisted microscopy is performed, and the fast Fourier transformation (FFT) spectra of the images along the distance are studied. Then the Poynting vector in the point dipole field is theoretically investigated based on the spectral decomposition of dyadic Green's function.

Objective: To determine the efficacy of venlafaxine combined with agomelatine in elderly patients with depression and observe the changes in S-100 calcium binding protein B (S-100B) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) before and after treatment.

Methods: The data of 142 elderly patients with depression treated in Affiliated Hospital of Gansu Medical College between January 2020 and January 2022 were retrospectively studied. Among the patients, 62 treated with venlafaxine were assigned to a control group, and 80 treated with agomelatine combined with venlafaxine were assigned to an observation group.

Constructing heterojunction is an attractive strategy for promoting photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance in water splitting and organic pollutant degradation. Herein, a novel porous BiVO/Boron-doped Diamond (BiVO/BDD) heterojunction photoanode containing masses of ultra-micro electrodes was successfully fabricated with an n-type BiVO film coated on a p-type BDD substrate by magnetron sputtering (MS). The surface structures of BiVO could be adjusted by changing the duration of deposition (T).

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in two (210)Pb dated sediment cores from the coastal East China Sea, strongly influenced by the discharge from the Yangtze River, were determined to help to reconstruct the economic development over the past century in East China. The variations in PAH concentrations and fluxes in the sediment cores were primarily due to energy structure change, severe floods and dam construction activities. The impact on PAHs by the river discharge overwhelmed the atmospheric depositions.
