Background: The progression of diabetic nephropathy (DN) is closely associated with lipid accumulation. Diosgenin (Dio) plays a beneficial role in the lipid metabolism associated with multiple diseases. Thus, the mechanism underlying Dio's function in DN associated with aberrant lipid accumulation warrants further investigation.

The objective of this study was to investigate the protective effects of PSP against OA and to elucidate its underlying molecular mechanism. In our in vitro experiments, PSP not only inhibited the IL-1β-induced inflammatory responses and the nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB) signaling pathway in chondrocytes but also regulated the cartilage matrix metabolism.

Our previous research has shown that the combination of icariin (ICA) and curcumol (CUR) induced autophagy and ferroptosis in PCa cells, and altered lipid metabolism. We aimed to further explore the effects of the combination of ICA and CUR on gut microbiota, metabolism, and immunity in PCa.

Testosterone also plays a key role in sexual dysfunction. In this study, we found that testosterone can inhibit cavernous fibrosis by affecting the expression of miR-22-3p, providing a new basis for research and treatment of ED.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic joint disease characterized by progressive cartilage degeneration, which imposes a heavy physical and financial burden on the middle-aged and elderly population. As the pathogenesis of OA has not been fully elucidated, it is of great importance to develop targeted therapeutic or preventive medications. Traditional therapeutic drugs, such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, steroids and opioids, have significant side effects, making the exploration for safe and effective alternative therapeutic drugs urgent.

The GSE36807 gene expression profile was downloaded from the gene expression database(GEO) and the differentially expressed(both up-regulated and down-regulated) genes(DEGs) were analyzed by using R language software. The core genes in the DEGs were obtained by using String database, Cytoscape software and its plug-in analysis, and the gene ontology(GO) and Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes(KEGG) were used to analyze the core genes.
