Spatial network analysis of green electricity efficiency dynamics in the Yellow River Basin cities.

Improving the green electricity efficiency (GEE), is an important issue for China's high-quality economic development. This study presents a spatial correlation network of urban GEE in the Yellow River Basin from 2012 to 2021, constructed using an improved gravity model. Social network analysis and the quadratic assignment procedure method are employed to analyze the spatial correlation characteristics and influencing factors.

The impact of China railway express on foreign direct investment inflows in Chinese central and western cities.

Capital needs transportation channels. Following successful communication and cooperation with Central Asian and European states, the China railway express (CRE) has been built by central and western cities. This new international freight service will greatly enhance the transport conditions in the central and western cities.

The impact of population aging on FDI: A panel data analysis based on 27 segments in China's manufacturing industry.

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is an important part of China's new "double-cycle" development pattern. Among the many factors affecting FDI, will the aging population have an impact on manufacturing, the key industry for FDI? This paper examines the direct and indirect effects of an aging population on FDI using panel data from 27 manufacturing sub-industries in China between 2005 and 2020. It is found that (1) the deepening of the population's aging negatively affects FDI inflows and this result continues to hold after a series of robustness tests.

Two-Way FDI assists agricultural sustainable development: Based on digitalization and greening perspectives.

With the new challenges and crises facing agriculture, digitalization and green transformation have become important ways to solve the problems. This paper uses an international economics perspective to chart a new path for sustainable agricultural development. Specifically, it analyzes whether two-way international direct investment (FDI) can facilitate agricultural digital-green fusion(DGF)? Using a sample of 31 provinces (autonomous regions) from 2012 to 2021, this study finds: (1) Two-way FDI can significantly contribute to agriculture's DGF.

Coordinated development of China's eco-investing and circular economy coupling based on CRITIC algorithm.

Green Investment (GI) is a financial form of Sustainable Development (SD), which can effectively promote SD. Its development concept, strategy, products and services are in line with the development concept of Circular Economy (CE), which is the development trend of commercial banks and other financial institutions in the future. This paper aimed to promote the efficient use of resources, reduce environmental pollution, improve the health of the ecosystem, provide a better ecological environment for people, and promote sustainable development by integrating ecological investment and circular economy.

Evaluating the abiotic synthesis potential and the stability of building blocks of life beneath an impact-induced steam atmosphere.

A prerequisite for prebiotic chemistry is the accumulation of critical building blocks of life. Some studies argue that more frequent impact events on the primitive Earth could have induced a more reducing steam atmosphere and thus favor widespread and more efficient synthesis of life building blocks. However, elevated temperature is also proposed to threaten the stability of organics and whether life building blocks could accumulate to appreciable levels in the reducing yet hot surface seawater beneath the steam atmosphere is still poorly examined.

Will bidirectional FDI impact industrial electricity efficiency in China?

Both "dual cycle" and "carbon neutral" policies have been implemented as national strategies in China. But will "dual cycle" policy help carbon neutral policy and how do "dual cycle" policy affect carbon neutral policy? This paper investigates whether unbalanced bidirectional foreign direct investment (FDI) hinders electricity efficiency. To do so, it uses the super slack-based version of the global Malmquist-Luenberger index to measure electricity efficiency in 30 provinces from 2001 to 2020.

The carbon reduction effect of China's outward foreign direct investment for carbon neutrality target.

Based on mainland China's provincial OFDI and carbon emissions data from 2003 to 2018, this paper applied a panel fixed-effects model and spatial econometric model to empirically test whether China's OFDI can be a powerful tool to achieve the "carbon neutrality" target. The empirical results indicate that China's OFDI significantly increases carbon emissions, but this effect has temporal and spatial differences. After incorporating spatial factors into the analysis, the impact of OFDI on carbon emissions differs when modelled by different spatial weight matrices.

Pearl plum ( Lindl.) is mainly cultivated in Tian'e County in Guangxi Province, southern China. Anthracnose is a devastating disease on pearl plum, causing extensive leaf blight.

Engineering of salt-tolerant Shewanella aquimarina XMS-1 for enhanced pollutants transformation and electricity generation.

Saline wastewater poses a challenge during bio-treatment process due to salinity affecting the physiological activity of microorganisms and inhibiting their growth and metabolism. Thus, screening and engineering the salt-tolerant strains with stronger performances are urgent. Shewanella aquimarina XMS-1, a salt-tolerant dissimilated metal reducing bacteria (DMRB), was isolated from seawater environment.

Assessing urban atmospheric environmental efficiency and factors influencing it in China.

With rapid urbanization and industrialization in developing countries, cities have become the major sources of air pollution. Studying urban atmospheric environmental efficiency has an important reference value for the prevention and control of air pollution. This study used data from 267 cities in China between 2001 and 2016 to assess the urban atmospheric environmental efficiency using the super-efficiency slacks-based measure model, to test the spatial characteristics of urban atmospheric environmental efficiency using the spatial autocorrelation method, and to identify factors influencing it using the Geodetector.
