It is important to develop low infrared (IR) emissive coating with tunable structure color to improve the infrared-visible stealth performance of military equipment. In this work, uniform ZnO spheres are used as building units to construct photonic structures with both bright adjustable structure color and low IR emissivity due to the relatively high refractive index and low IR emissivity of ZnO. The vivid tunable structural colors are provided by the photonic bandgap of ZnO photonic crystals (PCs) or the quasi-bandgap of amorphous photonic crystals (APCs), respectively.

In the vanguard of neuromorphic engineering, we develop a paradigm of biocompatible polymer memcapacitors using a seamless solution process, unleashing comprehensive synaptic capabilities depending on both the stimulation form and history. Like the human brain to learn and adapt, the memcapacitors exhibit analogue-type and evolvable capacitance shifts that mirror the complex flexibility of synaptic strengthening and weakening. With increasing frequency and intensity of the stimulation, the memcapacitors demonstrate an evolution from short-term plasticity (STP) to long-term plasticity (LTP), and even to metaplasticity (MP) at a higher level.

The performance of blue quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) is limited by unbalanced charge injection, resulting from insufficient holes caused by low mobility or significant energy barriers. Bacterial wilt severely jeopardizes plant growth and causes enormous economic loss in the production of many crops, including tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum). Here, we first demonstrated that the roots of bacterial wilt-resistant tobacco mutant KCB-1 can limit the growth and reproduction of Ralstonia solanacearum. A comprehensive comparison of organic single crystals based on a single material but with different dimensions provides a unique approach to probe their carrier injection mechanism. In this report, both two-dimensional (2D) and microrod single crystals with the same crystalline structure of an identical thiopyran derivative, 7,14-dioctylnaphtho[2,1-:6,5-']bis(cyclopentane[]thiopyran) (C-SS), are grown on a glycerol surface with the space-confined method. To identify the effect of biochar addition on soil abiotic and biotic properties and provide evidence for the soil improvement with biochar input, the soil physiochemical properties and fungal community were investigated in a cinnamon soil after 3-year biochar additions of 10, 20, and 40 t ·hm. The relationship between the fungal community and edaphic physicochemical characteristics was also analyzed. The results showed that soil pH, moisture, total nitrogen (TN), and total organic carbon (TOC) significantly increased but dissolved organic carbon (DOC) content and soil bulk density decreased with biochar addition.

The effect of hyperthermic carbon dioxide (CO2) pneumoperitoneum in combination with 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) on the proliferation and invasion of colon cancer was explored. Colon cancer cell line SW-480 was sealed into the urine collection bag to simulate pneumoperitoneum with 100% CO2 under a pressure of 12 mmHg. The present study explored the inhibitory effect of hyperthermic CO2 pneumoperitoneum on the proliferation and migration of colon cancer cells, and its mechanism. Colon cancer cell line SW-480 was sealed into a urine collection bag to simulate pneumoperitoneum with 100% CO2 under a pressure of 14 mmHg. The growth and morphology of cells were observed under a microscope, the inhibition on cell proliferation was measured using WST-8 test, cell apoptosis and the cell cycle were monitored using fluorescence-activated cell sorting analysis, the migration of cells was tested using the scratch assay, and the expression of HSP-70, caspase-3, hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) proteins and genes was investigated using western blotting and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction.
