Background: Treatment of Vitis vinifera fruit (VVF) ingestion can be challenging due to no clear toxic dose, signalment factors and variable clinical signs. Current treatment guidance is generalised: decontamination, aggressive fluid therapy, monitoring and/or treatment of renal dysfunction. The objective of this study was to conduct a scoping review of scientific evidence regarding the ingestion of VVF in dogs.

Plasma Rich in Growth Factors in the Treatment of Endodontic Periapical Lesions in Adult Patients: 3-Dimensional Analysis Using Cone-Beam Computed Tomography on the Outcomes of Non-Surgical Endodontic Treatment Using A-PRF+ and Calcium Hydroxide: A Retrospective Cohort Study.

The study presents results of periapical lesion healing after one-visit root canal treatment (RCT) with Advanced Platelet Rich Fibrin plus (A-PRF+) application compared to a two-visit RCT with an inter-appointment calcium hydroxide filling. The comparison was made based on CBCT-Periapical Index (PAI) lesion volume changes and the occurrence of post endodontic pain. The results of 3D radiographic healing assessments based on volume reduction criteria were different from the CBCT-PAI.

We evaluated the effects of vaccination against IL-33 in a mouse model of airway inflammation induced by house dust mite (HDM) allergen. Balb/c mice received the IL-33 vaccine subcutaneously, followed by intranasal administration of HDM for up to six weeks.

Objective: Feline gastrointestinal eosinophilic sclerosing fibroplasia (FGESF) is a recently described inflammatory disease of cats affecting stomach or intestines and draining regional lymph nodes. This study presents clinical and laboratory data on 13 newly described cases from Australia (11) and the UK (two).

Observations: The disease was most often observed in middle-aged cats (median 7 years of age; interquartile range 5-9 years).

Experimentally induced psoriatic lesions associate with rapid but transient decrease in interleukin-33 immunostaining in epidermis.

A slight epidermal damage can induce the Köbner reaction in psoriasis, and the “alarmin”, interleukin-33 (IL-33), may be involved in this process. Therefore, the uninvolved psoriatic skin was tape-stripped, and skin biopsies were collected at 0 day, 2 h and 3 days or at 0 day, 1 day and 7 days for immunohistochemistry. Eight patients out of 18 with the positive Köbner reaction showed a decrease in epidermal thickness and revealed transient reduction in epidermal nuclear immunostaining of IL-33 in 2-h, 1-day, 3-day biopsies compared to the 10 Köbner-negative patients.

The authors examined multiple brain sections from 15 autopsy cases of AIDS for the vascular changes, presence of amyloid plaques and signs of axonal damage. The mean patients age was 33.8 years (range 24-48 years).

Neural cell adhesion molecule in breast, colon and lung carcinomas.

Neural cell adhesion molecules (NCAM) play an important role in embryogenesis and in some tumors, especially of neuroectodermal origin. In this study, 18 cases of invasive breast carcinoma, 7 cases of sigmoid colon carcinomas and 17 cases of the non-small-cell lung carcinoma were immunostained for NCAM. NCAM expression, usually focal, was observed in some cases only.

Nitric oxide synthase type 1 expression in human lung cancer and its relation to p53.

Background: The nitric oxide synthases (NOS) have been observed in human tumour cell lines as well as in solid tumours. Neuronal isoform of NOS (NOS1) was particularly abundant in low-differentiated gynaecological, breast and central nerve system tumours, suggesting that it may characterize poorly differentiated tumours. So far, little is known about expression of the neuronal NOS isoform in non-small cell lung cancer.

Myoid cells and neuroendocrine markers in myasthenic thymuses.

We have studied myoid cells in normal and myasthenic thymuses as well as in thymomas. For the presence of neuroendocrine markers-producing cells and identification of synaptophysin (Syn) the immunohistochemical method and immunoblot analysis were used. Myoid cells can be demonstrated in the thymus of myasthenic patients in high number.
