Background: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune disease affecting primarily women of childbearing age. Recent advancements in treatment have led to more women with MS pursuing motherhood. Despite much new evidence on the safety of neuraxial anaesthesia/analgesia, many anaesthetists are still reluctant to provide neuraxial anaesthesia/analgesia to these patients.

Binocular treatment for amblyopia: a systematic review.

Purpose: The treatment of unilateral amblyopia involves refractive adaptation, occlusion therapy or penalization with atropine drops. However, in recent years, the use of binocular digital therapy has shown promising results. Aim of this systematic review was to evaluate the effectiveness of binocular treatment of amblyopia compared with standard treatments or placebo therapy.

Radiotherapy in Uveal Melanoma: A Review of Ocular Complications.

Uveal melanoma represents the most prevalent form of primary malignant intraocular tumor in adults. Historically, enucleation was considered the gold-standard approach in the treatment of uveal melanoma. Currently, radiotherapy is the most commonly used therapy, aiming at a better quality of life.

Vision loss in a pregnant woman with nephrotic syndrome.

Purpose: To report acute visual acuity loss in a pregnant woman with nephrotic syndrome.

Case Report: A 34-year-old pregnant woman was referred to our service for acute, bilateral visual impairment, associated with bilateral below knee edema (BKE). Best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was hand motion in the right eye and 20/200 in the left eye.
