Post-operative fibrosis of the filtering bleb limits the success of glaucoma filtration surgery (GFS). To minimise subconjunctival scarring following GFS, treatment with antimetabolites such as Mitomycin C (MMC) has become standard practice; however, their use is associated with considerable side effects.
