The upper extremity cooling test has been used for early detection of coronary insufficiency in 149 patients with diabetes mellitus and hypertension aged 40 to 60 years and electrocardiograms were evaluated prior and after the test according to the Minnesota Code. Additionally, in 49 subjects of above group the positive effort test has been performed revealing positive result in 22%, 4% exhibited the positive cooling test. In the group of 100 persons with arterial hypertension in whom the effort test has not been performed the positive cooling test has been noted in 6%.

In two groups of workers exposed to vibration and noise exceeding allowable standards within 3 to 30 years for over 4 hrs daily, the activity of creatine kinase-test enzyme for the diagnosis of muscular diseases and traumata was evaluated. Both in group I, composed of 74 workers aged 21-51 (38 on average) topically exposed to mechanical vibrations and noise, and in group II, composed of 45 workers aged 25-51 (37 on average), with topical or whole-body exposure to mechanical vibrations CPK was found to be significantly increased as compared to controls--26 workers carrying on medium (i.e.

The investigations have been undertaken to determine the effect of mechanical vibration on the behaviour of blood serum immunoglobulins and on the lymphocyte blastic transformation. The concentrations of IgA, IgG, IgM have been determined with 174 workers of metallurgical plants who were exposed to both vibration and noise, and with 50 workers exposed to noise only. The lymphocyte blastic transformation has been determined with 70 workers exposed to both vibration and noise.
