362 patients with acute appendicitis (AA) were examined. For microbiological diagnosis of aerobic and anaerobic nonclostridial microflora we used complex accelerated methods (including evaluation of gram-negative microorganisms in comparison with tinctorial-fermentative method of differential staining according to oxygen sensitivity of catalasopositive together with aerobic and cathalasonegative anaerobic microorganisms) as well as complete bacteriologic examination with determination of sensitivity of the above microorganism to antimicrobial remedies. High rate of aerobic-anaerobic microbial associations and substantial identity of microflora from appendicis and exudate from abdominal cavity was revealed, which evidenced the leading role of endogenous microorganisms in etiology and pathogenesis of AA and peritonitis i.

Kinetics of accumulation and elimination of OA and its derivatives exhibiting bactericidal effect makes it possible to predict optimum scheme of using these drugs in prevention and treatment of radiation disease.

The effectiveness of enterosorbents (polymethylsiloxane used as enterosgel and activated charcoal) has been studied in experiments on white rats infected with low virulent Salmonella typhimurium strain N 79. As shown in this study, the use of sorbents normalizes the morphofunctional characteristics of the epithelium of the small intestine and decreases the degree of Salmonella colonization of the parietal layer in the lumen of the small intestine, causing the destruction of some adsorbed bacteria.

Transmission electron microscopy has revealed the capacity of rotaviruses for adsorption on Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis cells and the absence of such capacity with respect to Enterococcus faecalis, Lactobacillus casei and Edwardsiella tarda. Different degrees and a varying character of the adsorption of rotaviruses by the representatives of the opportunistic group of bacteria have been established, which may aggravate the course of rotavirus diarrhea due to the aggregation of viral particles. For the first time the phenomenon of the selective destructive adsorption of rotaviruses by E.

The adsorbing activity of granulated carbonic sorbents SKN and KAU, as well as their oxidated forms, containing protogenic carboxylic and phenolic groups with respect to Shigella flexneri, Salmonella typhimurium, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa pathogenic strains has been studied. As shown in this study, the process of interaction between microorganisms and carbonic sorbents has two stages. At the first stage the main role is played by long-distance electrostatic forces and at the second stage, by Van der Waals short-distance forces, as well as bonds formed between cell structures and surface groupings of carbonaceous materials.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFA structure of the pyocyanic bacterium culture was studied by the method of electron microscopy of native preparations and ultrafine sections of the cells, which contained in the quantity of 10(5)/ml of suspension, and were treated with iodopiron in the concentration of 93.75 mg/ml, 10% dimexide solution and their combination. The increase in damaging effect on bacteria of the combined use of chemopreparations permits to recommend their complex administration in local pyocyanic infection in burned patients.

It combined the antimicrobial spectrum of gentamicin and the local sorption-detoxication action of the matrix. In acute and chronic experiments on 5 species of laboratory animals it was shown that polymethylsiloxane had no general toxic action on the animals, no damaging action on their internal organs, did not affect their functions and the state of the biological fluids, had no pyrogenic or allergenic effect.

It was found that the substitution of the transplants by a new bone tissue was developing similarly. Allogenic bone transplants have a number of advantages over autotransplants: a simpler treatment and modelling the absence of an additional trauma to the child and a shorter duration of the operation.

As to radioprotective efficiency, oxolinic acid is inferior to such known sulfur-containing agents as indolylalkylamines and alpha-adrenomimetics. But oxolinic acid has an important advantage over them, that is, the increase in radioresistance it induces persists for several hours.
