Rehabilitative, medical treatment involved a combined use of enterosorption (the drug Enterosgel) and intravascular laser irradiation of blood (ILIB). The results obtained showed the adopted combined mode of treatment (Enterosgel + ILIB) to have a positive effect on the patients' body. The above alternative while eliminating the remainder from the body promotes an increase in the content of large granule-containing lymphocytes, which events result in restoration of those morphology of those leucocytes having undergone degeneration, with crystallization of saliva getting back to normal.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA study was made of the natural resistance status in inhabitants of Kiev over ten years after the Chernobyl power plant accident. The results obtained showed that small doses of ionizing radiation exert a negative effect on the body inducing morphological changes in leucocytes, lowering the blood absolute content of large granule-containing lymphocytes, causing decline in the level of natural killer activity, changes in leucocyte as well as lymphocyte counts. In inhabitants of Kiev, post-Chernobyl changes in the studied parameters-tend to get more pronounced with time.

The modulation effect was the greatest in patients taking esberitox during remission and while receiving radiotherapy. Administration of Ney Tumorin to patients with lymphogranulomatosis during remission appeared to be associated with substantial increase in the content of large granular lymphocytes and level of natural killer activity (almost two--fold) immediately after the end of the treatment and this tendency was to be still seen one--two months later.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA study carried out among residents of the city of Kiev indicates that combined chronic radiation after the Chernobyl accident in small doses resulted in a reduction of the natural killer activity level, decrease of the number of leucocytes, lymphocytes and in their qualitative disorders. With time after the Chernobyl accident there occurred a deterioration of the above values.

It is shown that treatment of inoperable cancer of the uterine body using the SELECTRON apparatus for contact irradiation (cesium-137 source, 066-MEV photons). With this method exact dose control is possible.

After treatment the signs and symptoms of the disease were less manifested.

The stimulating effect of cryodestruction of malignant tumors with their subsequent spontaneous thawing on LGL content and NKA in patients was established. Administration of prodigiosan immunomodulator contributed to increase in natural resistance of an organism of the patients.

Results of the investigation revealed an inhibition of the natural resistance in patients with diseases of the mammary gland, lungs, digestive tract. A positive correlation has been revealed between the natural killer activity and content of large granule-containing lymphocytes in donors and in patients at admission.

Patients with lymphomas and lymphogranulomatosis were subdivided in groups depending on the morphological variant and stage of the disease, length of remission. Results of the study allowed to establish disorders of the natural antitumour resistance in patients with malignant lymphomas, its dependence on histological verification, stage of the process, morphological variant.

By the method of measuring the percentage and absolute content of the large granule-containing lymphocytes in the peripheral blood of the healthy subjects, in pulmonary cancer and benign process in the lungs at admission, just before the operation, at day 1 and at days 13-14 after the operative intervention and combined cryosurgical treatment, the data about the stimulating effect of cryodestruction on the natural resistance of an organism of the patients were obtained.

Separate groups of animals were subjected to isolated effects of cryodestruction, radiation therapy with total doses of 60 or 30 Gy and combined cryoradiation treatment by different schedule. The study revealed that an enhanced efficiency of combined treatment is achieved essentially by a two-fold decrease in the total irradiation dose in combination with tumour focal cryodestruction.
