We here report the case of a 17-year-old patient presenting with compound heterozygous SC sickle cell disease following severe knee pain (gonalgia) in order to highlight the risk of delayed diagnosis as well as the need for prevention policies guiding early screening, thus improving patients' management and prognosis.
