Background: Computed tomography (CT)-guided hook-wire localization is currently the most commonly used technique for preoperative localization of pulmonary nodules in clinical practice. With the increasing incidence of multiple primary lung cancers and the increasing occurrence of second primary lung cancers or local recurrences after lung cancer surgery, some patients need to undergo an ipsilateral or contralateral second pulmonary resection. In order to reduce the surgical difficulty of the second operation and accurately guide the surgical resection, preoperative localization of some nodules is necessary.

Minimally invasive thoracic surgery, including video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery and robot-assisted thoracoscopic surgery, has been proven to have an advantage over open thoracotomy with less pain, fewer postoperative complications, faster discharge, and better tolerance among elderly patients. We introduce a uniportal robot-assisted thoracoscopic double-sleeve lobectomy performed on a patient following neoadjuvant immunotherapy. Specialized instruments like customized trocars with a reduced diameter, bulldog clamps, and double-needle sutures were utilized to facilitate the maneuverability through the single incision.

Hexavalent chromium, Cr(VI), is a heavy metal contaminant and the reduction of Cr(VI) is accompanied by large isotopic fractionation. In this study, the sources of Cr were explored using the Cr isotopic composition of sediments from the Xiaoqing River, a heavily polluted river located in the Shandong Province of China, which flows into Laizhou Bay. The results show that δCr values of the sediments are the highest upstream near the pollution source, and gradually decrease along the river toward the range for igneous reservoirs observed near the estuary.

The oxygenation of Earth's atmosphere is widely regarded to have played an important role in early-life evolution. Chromium (Cr) isotopes recorded in sedimentary rocks have been used to constrain the atmospheric oxygen level (AOL) over geological times based on the fact that a positive Cr isotopic signature is linked to the presence of Cr(VI) as a result of oxidative continental weathering. However, there is no direct evidence of the presence of Cr(VI) in sedimentary rocks yet.
