Assessing and selecting climate models with lower uncertainty is necessary to predict future climate and hydrological risks at the watershed scale. In this study, we integrated stepwise cluster analysis (SCA) to propose a multi-model ensemble downscaling framework aimed at reducing the uncertainty of GCM-based precipitation projections in large-scale watersheds. The Pearl River Basin (PRB) in southern China was selected as the study area to validate the reliability of this framework.

Objective: This study aims at investigating the difference in facial skin barrier function between rosacea patients and the healthy population of different ages in the Qinghai region and its correlation with age, providing a basis for clinical nursing and treatment.

Methods: The data of 216 rosacea patients were collected, and 211 healthy testers were selected as the control group. The skin barrier characteristics of rosacea patients of different ages were evaluated by comparing transepidermal water loss (TEWL), stratum corneum hydration (SCH), sebum content (SC), and pH values between the two groups.

Ideonella sakaiensis PET hydrolase (IsPETase) is a well-characterized enzyme for effective PET biodegradation. However, the low soluble expression level of the enzyme hampers its practical implementation in the biodegradation of PET. Herein, the expression of IsPETase, one of the most active mutants of IsPETase obtained so far, was systematically explored in E.

Water and land are crucial natural resources for agricultural development. It is necessary to allocate water and land resources effectively in order to achieve the maximum economic profits and the minimum environmental costs. In this research, an inexact two-stage fractional programming model was developed for the allocation of water and land resources, which is integrated interval-parameters (IPP), two-stage stochastic programming (TSP), fractional programming (FP).

In this research, an interval two-stage stochastic fuzzy-interval credibility constraint programming (ISFICP) method was developed for water resources allocation among multiple water users under complexities and uncertainties. The method could reflect the multiple complexities of water resources management, also trade-offs between the system benefits and violation risks. Dongjiang River (DJR) Basin, which supplies water to several core cities in south China such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong, was applied as the real demonstrative case.

Article Synopsis
  • - This research introduces the Communication Patterns of Adolescents' Emotional Distress (CPAED), focusing on how adolescents and their mothers communicate about emotions after distressing events.
  • - Factor analyses revealed three main communication patterns: ARES (Active and Reactive Emotion Sharing), LS (Lack of Solicitation by mothers), and LR (Lack of Response by adolescents).
  • - The study found that ARES was linked to lower emotional distress in adolescents, while LS and LR contributed to higher emotional distress, highlighting the impact of maternal communication styles on adolescents' emotional well-being.

Enterovirus 71 (EV71) is the main pathogen of the hand, foot, and mouth disease. It was firstly isolated from sputum specimens of infants with central nervous system diseases in California in 1969, and has been repeatedly reported in various parts of the world, especially in the Asia-Pacific region. EV71 3C protein is a 183 amino acid cysteine protease that can cleave most structural and non-structural proteins of EV71.
