In this study, the problem of quantized H filtering is addressed for networked switched piecewise-affine systems, in which the switching mechanism obeys the persistent dwell-time constraint. To process the measurement output and schedule the transmission sequence for alleviating the burden of the limited communication channel, a logarithmic quantizer is employed, which can further improve the bandwidth utilization in networked switched systems. On the basis of state-space division, the objective is to design a mode-dependent and region-dependent filter that ensuresthe filtering error system is globally uniformly exponentially stable and meets an H performance.

Plasmonic nanostructures have been regarded as potential candidates for boosting the nonlinear up-conversion rate at the nanoscale level due to their strong near-field enhancement and inherent high design freedom. Here, we design a hybrid metasurface to realize the moderate interaction of Fano resonance and create the dual-resonant mode-matching condition to facilitate the nonlinear process of second harmonic generation (SHG). The hybrid metasurface presents dipolar and octupolar plasmonic modes near the fundamental and doubled-frequency wavelengths, respectively, further utilized to enhance the SHG of low-dimensional MoS semiconductors.

As a dietary supplement, supraphysiological levels of D-mannose have been proven to attenuate colitis administration of 20% (w/v) D-mannose given in drinking water or by oral gavage. However, we observed that a lower dosage of 2% (w/v) D-mannose had no significant beneficial effect on colitis. Herein, enzymatic modification of mannose (phosphatidylmannoside, PtdMan) phospholipase D catalyzed transphosphatidylation is proposed as a way to enhance the modulatory effect of mannose on colitis.

Pulmonary fibrosis is a chronic and progressive interstitial lung disease associated with the decay of pulmonary function, which leads to a fatal outcome. As an essential epigenetic regulator of DNA methylation, the involvement of ubiquitin-like containing PHD and RING finger domains 1 (UHRF1) in fibroblast activation remains largely undefined in pulmonary fibrosis. In the present study, we found that TGF-β1-mediated upregulation of UHRF1 repressed beclin 1 via methylated induction of its promoter, which finally resulted in fibroblast activation and lung fibrosis both in vitro and in vivo.

Casein phosphopeptides (CPPs) are good at calcium-binding and intestinal calcium absorption, but there are few studies on the osteogenic activity of CPPs. In this study, the preparation of casein phosphopeptide calcium chelate (CPP-Ca) was optimized on the basis of previous studies, and its peptide-calcium chelating activity was characterized. Subsequently, the effects of CPP-Ca on the proliferation, differentiation, and mineralization of MC3T3-E1 cells were studied, and the differentiation mechanism of CPP-Ca on MC3T3-E1 cells was further elucidated by RNA sequencing (RNA-seq).

Domestic ducks are the important host for H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza virus (HPAIV) infection and epidemiology, but little is known about the duck T cell response to H5N1 AIV infection. In infection experiments of mallard ducks, we detected significantly increased CD8 cells and augmented expression of cytotoxicity-associated genes, including granzyme A and IFN-γ, in PBMCs from 5 to 9 d postinfection when the virus shedding was clearly decreased, which suggested the importance of the duck cytotoxic T cell response in eliminating H5N1 infection in vivo. Intriguingly, we found that a CD8 population of PBMCs was clearly upregulated in infected ducks from 7 to 9 d postinfection compared with uninfected ducks.
