Background: Previous studies have determined a signficant correlation between, foveal threshold on automated visual field perimetry and best-corrected visual acuity. To our knowledge, these correlations have not been studied using the Octopus (Haag-Streit, Köniz, Switzerland) perimeter.
Methods: Patients underwent Octopus automated visual field testing using the glaucoma tendency-oriented perimetry protocol where a foveal threshold value was collected.
Iron deficiency (ID) is a global health problem with consequences independent of anemia, including impaired cognition and exercise tolerance. The time from laboratory diagnosis to resolution of ID has not been defined. In a retrospective review of electronic medical record data from a Minnesota statewide health system, we identified patients with ID (ferritin level ≤25 ng/mL).

Methods: Multicenter retrospective cohort study of pediatric kidney transplant recipients with norovirus, confirmed by stool PCR, between January 1, 2008, and December 31, 2018.
Prcis: This meta-analysis examines the comparative efficacy of phacoemulsification with and without Kahook Dual Blade Goniotomy in individuals with glaucoma and cataract, aiming to elucidate optimal surgical approaches for coexisting conditions.
Purpose: The purpose of this current study is to compare the effect of combining Kahook Dual Blade (KDB) goniotomy with phacoemulsification versus phacoemulsification alone on intraocular pressure (IOP) and medication reduction in patients with glaucoma and cataract.
Methods: We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis utilizing computer databases, including Embase (OVID), MEDLINE (OVID and PubMed), CINHAL (EBSCO), and the Cochrane Library (Wiley).
Purpose: To determine a potential threshold optic nerve diameter (OND) that could reliably differentiate healthy nerves from those affected by optic atrophy (OA) and to determine correlations of OND in OA with retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness, visual acuity (VA), and visual field mean deviation (VFMD).
Methods: This was a retrospective case control study. Magnetic resonance (MR) images were reviewed from individuals with OA aged 18 years or older with vision loss for more than 6 months and an OA diagnosis established by a neuro-ophthalmologist.
Background: Gay and bisexual men (GBM) are at increased risk of developing human papillomavirus (HPV)-associated oropharyngeal cancer (OPC). Vaccination may prevent OPC in GBM; however, vaccination rates are low. The authors explored the correlates associated with HPV vaccination intent for OPC prevention among GBM.

Methods And Materials: A total of 1985 patient records with a diagnosis of periodontal health and stage III and IV periodontitis were included in the analysis. Demographic characteristics, the number of missing teeth, patient-reported medical conditions and medication intake as well as smoking habits were recorded.
Background: Although systemic medical conditions are associated with periodontitis and tooth loss, large-scale studies that include less prevalent systemic conditions are needed. The purpose of the study was to investigate the link between periodontal disease and tooth loss with systemic medical conditions in a large and diverse population.
Methods: Dental charts of adult patients who had attended the dental clinics seeking dental therapy of the universities contributing data to the BigMouth network and accepted the protocol of the study were included.
Background: Dyslipidemia is a modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease. The prevalence of dyslipidemia in pKTR (pediatric kidney transplant recipients) under modern immunosuppression remains unknown. We determined the prevalence, risk factors, co-morbidities, and treatment patterns of lipid abnormalities in pediatric kidney transplant recipients on steroid withdrawal immunosuppression.

Methods: Patients' records identified in the BigMouth Dental Data Repository with a periodontal diagnosis based on the 2017 World Workshop on the Classification of Periodontal and Peri-Implant Diseases and Conditions were evaluated. Patients were further categorized based on extent, severity, and rate of progression.
Background: Understanding disparities in pediatric kidney transplants is important to provide equitable care. We compared transplant outcomes between English-speaking (ES) and interpreter-needing (IN) pediatric kidney transplant recipients.
Methods: Through retrospective review, primary kidney transplant recipients, 0-21 years transplanted between 2005 and 2019, were divided into ES and IN cohorts.
