Article Synopsis
  • The high death rate from acute myocardial infarction (AMI) highlights the urgent need for more effective treatments in modern cardiology, particularly through new drug development.
  • Enzyme-resistant peptide analogs of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) could serve as promising therapies, as GLP-1 receptor (GLP1R) agonists show potential in preventing cardiac injury and adverse remodeling following heart-related issues.
  • These GLP1R agonists work by protecting heart cells from stress, reducing inflammation, and promoting cell survival through various cellular pathways, thereby improving heart health in conditions like myocardial infarction, hypertension, and diabetes.

The effects of resonance interaction of plasmonic and photonic modes in hybrid metal-dielectric structures with square Al nanodisk lattices coupled with a Si waveguide layer were investigated using micro-photoluminescence (micro-PL) spectroscopy. As radiation sources, GeSi quantum dots were embedded in the waveguide. A set of narrow PL peaks superimposed on the broad bands were observed in the range of quantum dot emissions.

The formation of CaSi polycrystalline structures under the postgrowth electron irradiation of epitaxial CaF/Si(111) films with embedded thin Si layers was studied. The dependence on the electron exposure time was investigated for two types of structures with different film thicknesses. The optimal conditions for the formation of two-dimensional CaSi structures were found.

The aim of the work was to carry out the physiological, biochemical and genetic characterization of the B-3531D strain. This strain is promising for use in the field of environmental biotechnology, since it has a pronounced ability to utilize crude oil and individual hydrocarbons in a wide temperature range. The genome of the strain was sequenced and completely assembled, it consists of a 2,903,369 bp circular chromosome and two circular plasmids, namely, pE73 (73,590 bp) and pE52 (52,125 bp).

The photoluminescence (PL) of the combined Ge/Si structures representing a combination of large (200-250 nm) GeSi disk-like quantum dots (nanodisks) and four-layered stacks of compact groups of smaller (30 nm) quantum dots grown in the strain field of nanodisks was studied. The multiple increase in the PL intensity was achieved by the variation of parameters of vertically aligned quantum dot groups. The experimental results were analyzed on the basis of calculations of energy spectra, electron and hole wave functions.
