Establishment and validation of a predictive model for spontaneous preterm birth in singleton pregnant women.

Introduction: In the current study, we screened for highly sensitive and specific predictors of premature birth, with the aim to establish an sPTB prediction model that is suitable for women in China and easy to operate and popularize, as well as to establish a sPTB prediction scoring system for early, intuitive, and effective assessment of premature birth risk.

Methods: A total of 685 pregnant women with a single pregnancy during the second trimester (16-26 weeks) were divided into premature and non-premature delivery groups based on their delivery outcomes. Clinical and ultrasound information were collected for both groups, and risk factors that could lead to sPTB in pregnant women were screened and analyzed using a cut-off value.

Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is a common cause of pain in the lumbar spine and legs. While acupuncture has become the primary conservative treatment for LDH, some patients experience treatment failure and require surgery, causing substantial concern for clinicians. We developed an effective personalized clinical prediction model to identify the independent risk factors associated with acupuncture failure in patients with LDH.

In order to explore the optimal time for receiving booster shots, here we construct an SVIR model with two time delays based on temporary immunity. Review of shear wave elastography in placental function evaluations.

As a non-invasive technique, shear wave elastography (SWE) can be used analyze the physiological and biomechanical properties of the placenta.

Objective: We aim to explore the clinical therapeutic effect of alternative wave electroacupuncture combined with Lee's naprapathy therapy on knee osteoarthritis (KOA) (blood stasis due to qi stagnation).

Method: 122 patients with KOA treated in our hospital from January 2018 to October 2021 were randomly grouped into a combined group ( = 61) and a control group ( = 61). The combined group was treated with alternative wave electroacupuncture combined with Lee's naprapathy, while the control group was treated with alternative wave electroacupuncture alone.

Efficacy of acupuncture for persistent and intractable hiccups: A protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

Background: Persistent and intractable hiccups are a common clinical symptom that cause considerable physical pain to patients and severely damage their quality of lives. An increasing number of studies have demonstrated that acupuncture applied at acupoints dominated by Cuanzhu (BL2) can be used as one of the nonpharmacological therapies for controlling intractable hiccups. However, there is insufficient evidence evaluating the safety and effectiveness of those interventions.
