Non-Pharmacological Pain and Stress Management (N-PPSM) in Pediatric Wards: A Nurses' Perspective.

Purpose: To describe the nurses' use of non-pharmacological pain and stress management (N-PPSM) in pediatric wards and their perceptions of the benefits and perceived barriers that encourage and limited their use of these methods.

Methods: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study involving 125 nurses working in the pediatric ward of an Indonesian hospital. Data collection utilized modified non-pharmacological method questionnaires, and data analysis involved t-tests and ANOVA.

Hirschsprung's disease is a congenital anomaly in the distal part of the gastrointestinal tract, characterised by the absence of neuronal ganglion cells in the myenteric and submucosal plexus, causing the accumulation of faeces in the proximal portion. Dehiscence of coloanal anastomosis is one of the complications of Transanal Endorectal Pull-through (TEPT) surgery. This paper reports a case of Hirschsprung's disease in a six-year-old girl who experienced anastomotic dehiscence after undergoing TEPT.

The role of the rapid molecular test (RMT) and the provision of a negative pressure mortuary room in reducing COVID-19 corpse handling protocol rejection: experiences with religious conservative groups.

Background: This study explores the difference in COVID-19 corpse handling protocol rejection before and after the innovation in rapid molecular test (RMT) postmortem examination and providing negative pressure mortuary rooms. This study is a retrospective observational study. Each of the corpse's immediate family was explained the procedure for handling the body based on the fatwa of the religious institution and the hospital's standard operating system.

Effect of music therapy on cortisol as a stress biomarker in children undergoing IV-line insertion.

Objective: An IV-line insertion can often provoke stress that can lead to an increase in cortisol levels. Complementary medication such as music therapy is needed to overcome the increase in cortisol levels. We conducted this study to determine the effect of music therapy on salivary cortisol levels in children with leukaemia undergoing IV-line insertion.

Accuracy of transition zone in contrast enema to predict intraoperative aganglionosis level in patients with Hirschsprung disease.

Objective: While frozen section methods have been widely conducted to determine aganglionosis segment during transanal endorectal pull-through (TEPT) for Hirschsprung disease (HSCR) patients in most institutions, some hospitals still rely on contrast enema to predict aganglionosis segments due to unavailability of frozen section facilities. We determined the accuracy of transition zone in contrast enema to predict aganglionosis segments during TEPT. We retrospectively reviewed all contrast enema and frozen sections for HSCR patients under 2 years of age who underwent TEPT at our institution.
