  • Ferroptosis has potential in cancer treatment, but its inducers affect both tumor and non-tumor cells, limiting their safe use as therapy.
  • Previous research showed that macrophages can engulf ferroptotic cells, but the impact of phospholipid peroxidation on macrophage function during treatment is still unclear.
  • This study found that phospholipid peroxidation in macrophages hinders their ability to eliminate ferroptotic tumor cells, promoting tumor resistance to therapy, and identified the TLR2-MARCH6 axis as a possible target for better cancer treatment strategies.

As a new means of brain neuroregulation and research, transcranial magneto-acoustic stimulation (TMAS) uses the coupling effect of ultrasound and a static magnetic field to regulate neural activity in the corresponding brain areas. Calcium ions can promote the secretion of neurotransmitters and play a key role in the transmission of neural signals in brain cognition. In this study, to explore the effects of TMAS on cognitive function and neural signaling in the CA1 region of the hippocampus, TMAS was applied to male 2-month-old C57 mice with a magnetic field strength of 0.

Nitric oxide (NO) plays critical roles in both physiology and pathology, serving as a significant signaling molecule. Recent investigations have uncovered the pivotal role of lysosome as a critical organelle where intracellular NO exists and takes function. In this study, we developed a novel ratiometric fluorescent probe called XL-NO and modified it with a morpholine unit, which followed the intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) mechanism.

Introduction: In our study, we applied transcranial magneto-acoustic stimulation (TMAS), a technique based on focused ultrasound stimulation within a static magnetic field, in the APP/PS1 mouse model of Alzheimer's disease (AD) to explore the feasibility of TMAS on improving AD related spatial memory deficits and abnormal neural oscillations.

Methods: The mice treated with TMAS once daily for 21 days. We recorded local field potential signals in the hippocampal CA1 region of the mice after TMAS treatment with electrophysiology and evaluated the neural rehabilitative effect of TMAS with sharp-wave ripple (SWR), gamma oscillations during SWRs, and phase-amplitude coupling (PAC).

The IMpower010 and KEYNOTE-091 trials have demonstrated the benefit of adjuvant immunotherapy (IO) after chemotherapy (C+IO) in resected non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), including those with epidermal growth factor receptor gene (EGFR) mutation. Meanwhile, several studies have reported that EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI) may prolong disease-free survival (DFS) in these patients. However, there is currently a lack of head-to-head comparison between these two adjuvant therapy strategies.

Conventional hydrological modeling is usually based on the assumption that parameters are statically time-invariant. However, recent studies suggest that the influences of climate change and human interventions have made this hypothesis questionable. Meanwhile, machine learning techniques are increasingly used to extract patterns and insights from the ever-increasing hydrometeorological data.

In this paper, we investigate the efficiency droop phenomenon in green and blue GaN-based micro-LEDs of various sizes. We discuss the distinct carrier overflow performance in green and blue devices by examining the doping profile extracted from capacitance-voltage characterization. By combining the size-dependent external quantum efficiency with the ABC model, we demonstrate the injection current efficiency droop.

Article Synopsis
  • The study explores how a maternal diet (high-fat, high-protein, or normal) during early life affects the intestinal flora and susceptibility to inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in offspring mice.
  • Results showed that offspring weaned from mothers on a high-protein diet had lower gut bacterial diversity and weaker bacterial species compared to those from a control diet group.
  • Overall, a maternal high-protein diet was found to negatively impact intestinal flora diversity and increase the likelihood of developing IBD in the offspring.
