Methods: We utilized data from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care-IV (MIMIC-IV) to perform a comparative analysis of various predictive systems, including the Glasgow Aneurysm Score (GAS), Simplified Acute Physiology Score (SAPS) III, SAPS II, Logical Organ Dysfunction System (LODS), Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA), Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (SIRS), and The Oxford Acute Illness Severity Score (OASIS). Manufacturing abrasion-resistant superhydrophobic matters is challenging due to the fragile feature of the introduced micro-/nanoscale surface roughness. Four types of flowerlike manganese dioxide in nano scale was synthesized via a liquid phase method in KMnO4-H2SO4 solution and Cu particles, wherein the effect of Cu particles was investigated in detail. The obtained manganese dioxide powder was characterized by XRD, SEM and TEM, and the supercapacity properties of MnO2 electrode materials were measured. The results showed that doping carbon black can benefit to better dispersion of copper particles, resulting in generated smaller size of Cu particles, and the morphology of MnO2 nanoparticles was dominated by that of Cu particles.

We present a simple yet effective progressive self-guided loss function to facilitate deep learning-based salient object detection (SOD) in images. The saliency maps produced by the most relevant works still suffer from incomplete predictions due to the internal complexity of salient objects. Our proposed progressive self-guided loss simulates a morphological closing operation on the model predictions for progressively creating auxiliary training supervisions to step-wisely guide the training process.

Clinical effects of high frequency hyperthermia-assisted irinotecan chemotherapy on patients with middle and advanced colorectal cancer and its safety assessment were investigated. A retrospective analysis was performed on the medical records of 103 patients with middle and advanced colorectal cancer treated in Cancer Center of Guangzhou Medical University from May 2011 to June 2015, including 48 patients receiving irinotecan plus conventional treatment (irinotecan group) and 55 patients receiving high frequency hyperthermia-assisted irinotecan plus conventional treatment (combination group). The treatment effects, severity and incidence of adverse reactions, quality of life and 3-year survival rates of patients were analyzed and compared between the two groups.
