GASZ is indispensable for gametogenesis in the silkworm, Bombyx mori.

The prominent role of the P-element induced wimpy testis (PIWI)-interacting RNA (piRNA) pathway in animals is to silence transposable elements and maintain genome stability, ensuring proper gametogenesis in gonads. GASZ (Germ cell protein with Ankyrin repeats, Sterile alpha motif, and leucine Zipper) is an evolutionarily conserved protein located on the outer mitochondrial membrane of germ cells and plays vital roles in the piRNA pathway and spermatogenesis in mammals. In the model insect Drosophila melanogaster, GASZ is essential for piRNA biogenesis and oogenesis, whereas its biological functions in non-drosophilid insects are still unknown.

Effect of scapular stabilization exercises on subacromial pain (impingement) syndrome: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of scapular stabilization exercises (SSE) in the treatment of subacromial pain syndrome (SAPS).

Methods: Clinical randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on SSE in the treatment of SAPS were searched electronically in PubMed, Science Direct, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), EBSCOhost, Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro), Web of Science, and other databases from 2000 to 2022, supplemented by manual search. Final RCTs were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and the Physiotherapy Evidence Database scale was used to evaluate the methodological quality of the study.

Co-pyrolysis of microalgae with low-density polyethylene (LDPE) for deoxygenation and denitrification.

To upgrade the algae pyrolytic oil, the influence of algae components on co-pyrolysis with LDPE were studied, with Spirulina platensis (SP), Nannochloropsis sp. (NS) and Enteromorpha Prolifera (EP) as typical algae samples, as they are enriched with proteins, lipids and carbohydrate, respectively, especially, the N and O transformation behavior during the co-pyrolysis was studied in depth. During co-pyrolysis, the interaction on products depended on the components of algae.

Signal Processing and Target Fusion Detection via Dual Platform Radar Cooperative Illumination.

A modified signal processing and target fusion detection method based on the dual platform cooperative detection model is proposed in this paper. In this model, a single transmitter and dual receiver radar system is adopted, which can form a single radar and bistatic radar system, respectively. Clutter suppression is achieved by an adaptive moving target indicator (AMTI).

Co-pyrolysis of microalgae and plastic: Characteristics and interaction effects.

To improve the quality of the oil produced from microalgae, the co-pyrolysis of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and Nannochloropsis sp. (NS) in a fixed bed reactor was investigated at different mixing ratios. Co-pyrolysis improved the gas yield, and the lower heating value of the gas products increased obviously with an increase in the LDPE amount.

Interior reconstruction method based on rotation-translation scanning model.

In various applications of computed tomography (CT), it is common that the reconstructed object is over the field of view (FOV) or we may intend to sue a FOV which only covers the region of interest (ROI) for the sake of reducing radiation dose. These kinds of imaging situations often lead to interior reconstruction problems which are difficult cases in the reconstruction field of CT, due to the truncated projection data at every view angle. In this paper, an interior reconstruction method is developed based on a rotation-translation (RT) scanning model.
