A novel strain, HME-24, was isolated from herbicide bensulfuron-methyl-contaminated soil in Jiangning District, Jiangsu Province, China. Strain HME-24 was a Gram-stain-negative, strictly aerobic, non-motile and rod-shaped bacterium, and the colonies on R2A agar are yellow. The strain was non-sporulating, catalase- and oxidase-positive.

A yellow-coloured bacterial strain, designated F-4, was isolated from a farmland soil sample from Qianshan, Anhui province, China. Strain F-4 was Gram-stain-negative, strictly aerobic, oval-shaped, motile (by gliding) and non-spore-forming. Growth occurred at 20-35 °C (optimum, 30 °C), at pH 6.
