Mandarin fish (Siniperca chuatsi) is a prominent freshwater species with significant economic value in China, while disease poses a major hindrance to the advancement of mandarin fish aquaculture. To date, the understanding of the prevention and management of bacterial disease in mandarin fish remains incomplete. View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) initiates heart failure, and promptly identifying low ejection fraction is crucial for managing progression and averting mortality. In this study we developed an artificial intelligence-enabled electrocardiogram (AI-ECG) algorithm to identify patients with low ejection fraction and predict LVEF values.
Methods: The electrocardiogram data were used as input, and the algorithm generated the probability of the patient suffering a low ejection fraction and estimated the LVEF value.
Background: Postoperative delirium (POD) is a serious and common complication. The aim of present study is to investigate the diurnal variation of POD and the effects of esketamine in elderly patients.

The objective was to provide physicians with a better understanding of these factors so that they can take appropriate action to minimize ERAS failure and improve patient outcomes.
Method: A literature search of the PubMed MEDLINE, OVID, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science was performed.
A highly enantioselective halogenation/semipinacol rearrangement of isatin-derived allylic alcohols has been developed with a chiral N,N'-dioxide/Sc complex as catalyst. This strategy involved a pivotal stereodivergent kinetic resolution process and provided a facile and efficient entry to optically active halo-substituted quinolone derivatives and quinoline alkaloids with a quaternary stereocenter simultaneously under mild reaction conditions. Based on the control experiments together with kinetic studies and DFT calculations, a possible catalytic cycle was proposed to illustrate the reaction process and enantiocontrol.

This strategy provided an array of optically active 2-acyl-2-hydroxy cyclohexanones in moderate to good yields with high enantioselectivities. The asymmetric isomerizations of acyclic α-hydroxy aldehydes and α-iminols were achieved as well under modified conditions, affording the corresponding chiral α-hydroxy ketones and α-amino ketones in moderate results.

We have previously demonstrated that doxycycline (Dox), a tetracycline derivative, enhances the proliferation of the mouse thymic epithelial cell line 1 (MTEC1) via MAPK/ERK signal pathway. Herein we provide evidence that Dox also has profound impact on the cytokine production by MTEC1.
