In previous studies, we have cloned two soluble trehalase genes (HaTreh1-1 and HaTreh1-2) from the harlequin ladybird Harmonia axyridis. Here, we obtained the other two novel genes (HaTreh1-3 and HaTreh1-4) by transcriptome sequencing and rapid amplification of cDNA ends. Generally, anabolism enhancement and catabolism inhibition together contribute to accumulation of trehalose, and trehalase is the key enzyme to start the catabolism of trehalose.

To investigate the nature and function of elongation factor 1β' from Spodoptera exigua (SeEF-1β'), its cDNA was cloned. This contained an open reading frame of 672 nucleotides encoding a protein of 223 amino acids with a predicted molecular weight of 24.

Large area well-aligned ZnO nanorod arrays on different substrates were synthesized by hydrothermal methods. The electron emission properties of the ZnO nanorod arrays on different substrates were investigated under both direct current (DC) and pulse electric fields. Owing to the excellent conductivity of substrates, the array on stainless steel substrate had better electron emission properties than that on silicon substrate.

High quality, large area and well-oriented ZnO nanorod arrays electrodes were successfully synthesized on conductive transparent oxide substrates by low-temperature hydrothermal methods for dye-sensitized solar cells. Aiming at getting further enhancement and study the effect of the surface modification on cell performance, ZnO thin film and ZnO nanoparticles are carried out to modify the as-grown ZnO nanorod arrays. The morphology, structure and photoluminescence property of the modified ZnO electrodes are characterized in detail.

The plasma-induced emission properties of CNT array cathodes with different morphologies were investigated. The ratio of CNT height to CNT-to-CNT distance has considerable effects on their plasma-induced emission properties.

But the mechanism of its immunogenicity and virulence is still unclear. In this study, we investigated the influence of the CFP-10/ESAT-6 complex on production of IL-12 and nitric oxide (NO) produced by the ANA-1 macrophage cell line.

Methods: A urinary stoma was created intracorporeally and was pulled out to the abdominal wall through a retroperitoneal tunnel. The ileal conduit was fixed by nonabsorbable sutures that incorporated all abdominal wall fascia and the bowel seromuscular layer.
Post-cystectomy recurrence of transitional-cell carcinoma (TCC) that is confined to the pelvis is uncommon, and few data exist to guide its management. we used weekly intra-arterial chemotherapy with gemcitabine and cisplatin in a consecutive series of 11 patients with this diagnosis. After 2 cycles of intra-arterial chemotherapy with gemcitabine (each cycle: 900 mg/m(2) on days 1, 8, and 15) plus cisplatin (each cycle: 30 mg/m(2) on days 1, 8, and 15), 3 patients achieved complete response (CR) and 8 patients partial response (PR).
