- Two new bacterial strains, SYSU M80004 and SYSU M80005, were isolated from the Pearl River Estuary in Guangzhou, China, and are identified as Gram-negative and aerobic.
- Both strains thrive in a pH range of 6.0 to 8.0, with optimal growth at pH 7.0 and temperatures around 28°C, while they can tolerate a slight salt concentration.
- Taxonomic analysis, including genetic sequencing and lipid composition, leads to the classification of these strains as novel species, proposing them as new members of the bacterial genus.
One new phenylpropanoid schineolignin D (1), one new sesquiterpene (-)-(7S,10S)-3,11,12,13-tetrahydroxycalamenene (2), one new quinic acid 4-(E)-O-coumaroylquinic acid ethyl ester (3), and seven known compounds 4-10 were separated from the roots of Schisandra chinensis.
