The principle of Representational Similarity Analysis (RSA) posits that neural representations reflect the structure of encoded information, allowing exploration of spatial and temporal organization of brain information processing. Traditional RSA when applied to EEG or MEG data faces challenges in accessing activation time series at the brain source level due to modeling complexities and insufficient geometric/anatomical data. The complex multistep activation cascade of Ire1 involves changes in the Ire1 conformation and oligomeric state. Ire1 activation enhances ER folding capacity, in part by overexpressing the ER Hsp70 molecular chaperone BiP; in turn, BiP provides tight negative control of Ire1 activation. This study demonstrates that BiP regulates Ire1 activation through a direct interaction with Ire1 oligomers.

The neuroplasticity potential is reduced with aging and impairs during neurodegenerative diseases and brain and visual system injuries. This work is devoted to the description of the synthesis of hydrogels in the process of cryotropic gel formation based on copolymerization of synthesized potassium 3-sulfopropyl methacrylate and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (SPMA-co-HEMA) and assessing the potential possibility of their use as substrates for growing plants in intensive light culture in a greenhouse. Gel substrates based on the SPMA-co-HEMA were created in two compositions, differing from each other in the presence of macro- and microelements, and their effects were studied on the plants' physiological state (content of chlorophylls a and b, activity of catalase and peroxidase enzymes, intensity of lipid peroxidation, elemental compositions) at the vegetative period of their development and on the plants' growth, productivity and quality of plant production at the final stages of development. The article presents data on biomarkers for the early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Particular attention is paid to potential neuroimaging and ophthalmological markers, such methods of early diagnosis of AD as MRI with post-processing data processing and assessment of the volume of brain structures and cortical thickness - MRI morphometry, as well as optical coherence tomography are described. The article shows the relationship between AD and primary open-angle glaucoma and considers a case of AD in a patient with primary open-angle glaucoma.

The purpose of this review is to study the causes of cross-reactions of a number of drugs (mebeverine, phenibut, tropicamide, ramipril, metoprolol, phenylephrine, sertraline, chloropyramine and diphenhydramine) during the preliminary stage of laboratory diagnostics by immunochromatographic method and to propose a possible algorithm for solving this problem. Conducting a hair study in order to identify the fact of the use of psychoactive substances will increase the reliability of analytical diagnostics and reduce the likelihood of false positive results of the analysis. The use of a validated method of enzymatic hydrolysis of hair will eliminate unreliable results of the analysis due to the detection of the native molecule of the toxicant, increase the efficiency and accuracy of the diagnostic procedure.

Correct folding of outer membrane proteins (OMPs) into the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria depends on delivery of unfolded OMPs to the β-barrel assembly machinery (BAM). How unfolded substrates are presented to BAM remains elusive, but the major OMP chaperone SurA is proposed to play a key role. Here, we have used hydrogen deuterium exchange mass spectrometry (HDX-MS), crosslinking, in vitro folding and binding assays and computational modelling to show that the core domain of SurA and one of its two PPIase domains are key to the SurA-BAM interaction and are required for maximal catalysis of OMP folding.

The assembly of the microtubule-based spindle structure in plant meiosis remains poorly understood compared with our knowledge of mitotic spindle formation. One of the approaches in our understanding of microtubule dynamics is to study spindle assembly in meiosis of amphyhaploids. The article describes diagnostics and surgical treatment of a rare benign tumor (lipoblastoma) of four anatomical areas of the head and neck in an 8-months child. Diagnostic data, surgical procedure performed using microsurgical techniques and intraoperative neuromonitoring and the patient's condition in the long-term postoperative period are presented. The histological conclusion about the removal of the tumor with negative resection margins suggests favorable prognosis of the disease.
