There is an urgent need to globally remediate oil sludge-contaminated soil (OSS). Smoldering combustion is a new low-energy approach for the treatment of organic waste. Therefore, the feasibility of smoldering combustion for the treatment of OSS was investigated in this study using a series of laboratory-scale experiments.

Current methods to control CPM are not fully developed and mainly focus on synergistic removal of CPM in existing air pollution control devices, such as CPM reduction through scrubbing processes in wet flue gas desulfurization (WFGD) systems. In this work, an experimental system including a simulated WFGD scrubber, also referred to as the primary scrubber (PS), and a secondary scrubber (SS) was built to explore measures to improve the CPM reduction performance during scrubbing.

Air pollution control devices (APCDs) with a condensation process have a certain effect on CPM removal, which inspired us to study the condensation behavior of CPM. During the condensation process, the condensed CPM may exist in two final forms: one was collected by the cold surface that caused the condensation; the other was converted to fine particles and suspended in the space of the flue.

Introduction: We explored the cross-reactivity among 19 common allergen sources and evaluated the influence of serum IgE concentrations and the number of sensitized allergens on the incidence of allergic symptoms.
Methods: We conducted this cross-sectional analysis using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2005-2006 which is a program of studies designed to assess the health and nutritional status of adults and children in the USA. After excluding participants with missing data from the allergen IgE test, allergy questionnaire, and respiratory health questionnaire, a total of 7,224 participants aged 6 years and older were included, as children younger than 6 years old did not complete all 19 allergen-specific IgE tests.
Condensable particulate matter (CPM) is a special kind of primary particulate matter and is in a gaseous state before discharge. After discharge, it rapidly forms liquid or solid particles through atmospheric dilution and cooling, which are harmful to the environment and human health. However, current research on controlling CPM is lacking.

Many studies have shown that current CPM emissions from coal-fired stationary sources far exceed filterable particulate matter, and the issue of CPM emissions has attracted widespread attention. The current research on CPM mainly focuses on its emission characteristics in stationary sources and its migration characteristics in pollutant-controlled equipment, lacking the characteristics of CPM directly generated by fuel combustion.

In this study, we set out to evaluate the diagnostic value of Choline phosphate cytidylyltransferase-α (CCTα) in laryngeal squamous cell cancer (LSCC). The expression of CCTα was detected using immunohistochemistry in 50 LSCC patients' tissues and 16 vocal polyps as control group.
