Objective: At the histological and ultramicroscopic level, compare biopsy specimens of donor heart under standard (up to 240 min) and extended (more than 240 min) periods of pharmaco-cold preservation.
Material And Methods: Biopsy specimens of the left atrium of donor hearts: group 1 - 8 samples after transportation with pharmaco-cold preservation of the graft in Bretschneider solution (Dr. Franz Köhler Chemie GmbH, Germany) up to 240 min, (Me 140), and group 2 - 5 samples after an extended pharmaco-cold period (more than 240 min; Me 375) were examined using light microscopy of semi-thin sections and transmission electron microscopy, followed by stereological and statistical analysis.

A 74-year-old male entered the hospital with a medical history of an aortic arch and a descending thoracic aneurysm. To prevent arm ischaemia after the frozen elephant trunk procedure, a left subclavian artery to left common carotid artery anastomosis was performed. The postoperative period was complicated by sepsissternal infection and mediastinitis.

Research results concern the a-C:H:SiO coating structure, investigated using transmission electron microscopy and in vitro endothelization to study the coating. Based on the analysis of the atomic radial distribution function, a model is proposed for the atomic short-range order structure of the a-C:H:SiO coating, and chemical bonds (C-O, C-C, Si-C, Si-O, and Si-Si) are identified.

Unlabelled: is to evaluate the efficacy of various types of hybrid technology in compare to the classical repair of the aortic arch of type I aortic dissection treatment in the in-hospital period.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective observational study has been conducted, the results of surgical treatment of 213 patients with DeBakey type I aortic dissection operated on within the period from 2001 to 2017 were compared. Patients were divided into three groups: in group 1, patients undergone a hemiarch type of aortic repair or the total arch replacement (n=121); in group 2, a hemiarch aortic reconstruction and implantation of bare metal stent was performed (n=55); in group 3, a frozen elephant trunk technique was used (n=37).
The article deals with the plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition of 0.3-1.4 μm thick a-C:H:SiO films in a mixture of argon and polyphenylmethylsiloxane vapor onto the Ti-6Al-4V alloy substrate, which is often used as an implant material.

The paper focuses on the SiO-doped amorphous hydrocarbon (a-C:H:SiO) coating on the titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) alloy substrate obtained by plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition (PACVD) in a mixture of argon gas and polyphenylmethylsiloxane vapor using a bipolar substrate bias. It is shown that the a-C:H:SiO coating deposition results in the formation of a negative surface potential important for application of this coating for medical implants. The a-C:H:SiO coatings improve the corrosion resistance of Ti alloy to 0.

Patients And Methods: Our single-centre, blind, prospective, randomized study carried out from 2011 to 2015 included a total of 64 patients with ascending aortic aneurysms and aortic insufficiency. The patients were randomized into 2 groups: group I - aortic root reimplantation according to the Florida Sleeve technique (FS group) and group II - reimplantation of the aortic valve according to the T.
Presented herein is a review of the literature concerning the use of uncoated metal stents in surgery of aortic dissection. A conclusion was drawn that the results of using the Djumbodis stent should not be directly extrapolated to the outcomes obtained in case of the E-XL stent which had mainly been used for hermetic sealing and for creation of optimal conditions for TEVAR. It is pointed out that the use of uncoated metal stents in aortic surgery is acceptable, however, it is required to solve a series of problems associated with elimination of certain shortcomings of the available devices.

All these changes developed against the background of oxidative stress. In mature animals, the absolute and relative heart weights were decreased, but the ratio of mononuclear cardiomyocytes in both ventricles was higher than in the control.
