Background: In the USA, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) people report higher rates of tobacco use than non-LGBTQ+ people due to diverse factors, from anti-LGBTQ stigma to targeted marketing by the tobacco industry. There is an opportunity to support behavioural changes by delivering evidence-based health communication campaigns through community-based organisations (CBOs), but an insufficient evidence base and organisational resource restrictions limit this potential. Our previous research with CBO staff and leaders serving LGBTQ+ communities identified gaps in evidence-based campaigns, such as insufficient centering of LGBTQ+ communities in campaign development and execution.

High quality distribution and surface modification of self-assembled monolayer (SAM) is crucial for enhancing the efficiency and stability of p-i-n inverted perovskite solar cells (PSCs). In this work, a new co-assembly material, 4-(aminomethyl)-N,N-diphenylaniline iodide (TPAI), is developed to make SAMs orderly assembled. Density functional theory (DFT) calculation and sum frequency generation (SFG) characterization unveil that TPAI can bind with SAMs through π-π interactions to effectively diminish SAMs aggregation and improve the orderly assembly of SAMs.

Heterobivalent fusion aptamers that target a single protein show significant promise for studying protein-protein interactions. However, a major challenge is finding two distinct aptamers that can simultaneously recognize the same protein. In this study, we used a novel technique called Aptamer-Assisted DNA SELEX (AADS) to isolate two distinct aptamers capable of recognizing different sites on the programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) protein.

Background: Adipose tissue plays a pivotal role in systemic metabolism and maintaining bodily homeostasis. Exosomes from adipose tissues, known as AT-Exos, are recognized as important messengers in the communication between adipose tissue and other organs. Despite this, the alterations in exosome composition and the functional disparities among depot-specific AT-Exos in obesity remain elusive.

Studies suggest a possible association between Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection and bladder cancer (BCa) risk, though this remains unclear. Secreted frizzled-related protein (sFRP) is also linked to BCa, with some DNA viruses potentially regulating its expression. This study used Mendelian randomization (MR) and colocalization analysis to explore the causal relationship between EBV infection, BCa risk, and the mediating role of sFRP.

Translation and rotation are the two most fundamental forms of diffusion, yet their coupling mechanism is not clear, especially under confinement. Here, we provided evidence of the coupling between rotation and translation using a substituted benzene molecule as an example. A counterintuitive behavior was observed where the movement of the smaller molecule with an asymmetric shape was unexpectedly slower than the larger one with a symmetric shape in confined channels of zeolite.
