[Alteration of immune status in children after early surgical intervention concerning deep burn with simultaneous autodermoplasty].

The effect of early surgical intervention (ESI) on immune homeostasis in children with burn was studied. The results of examination of 102 children aged from 1 to 5 years old with burn injury are given. In 62 children ESI with simultaneous autodermoplastics was performed; further 40 underwent standard treatment.

[The use of an artificial microclimate chamber in the treatment of patients with chronic obstructive lung diseases].

Halotherapy was used for sanatorium rehabilitation in 29 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (chronic bronchitis and asthma). Significant positive effects of this method resulted in the improvement of the flow-volume parameters curve of lung function and in hypotensive effects on blood pressure. Halotherapy is recommended for use in patients suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases with hypertension or coronary heart disease.

[Morpho-functional features of the myocardium and coronary microvasculature in experimental embolism of the pulmonary artery branches].

Functional parameters of the heart ventricles, subendocardial morphology of anterior and posterior walls (AW and PW) of the right and left ventricles (RV and LV) and the state of coronary microvasculature were studied in experimental research on chinchilla mature rabbits at early (1, 2, 3 days) and late (after 7 and 30 days) stages after pulmonary artery branches embolism (PABE) which had been established by means of vaseline oil injection (0.3 ml/kg) in marginal ear vein. It was found that the heart muscle responded as a whole to the RV overload in PABE, with the structural and functional changes of both ventricles.

[The effect of food products on the endogenous formation of N-nitrosamines in rats].

Data have been presented on carcinogenic N-nitrosoamines (NA) synthesis from precursors in the gastric juice and in the stomach of rats. It is shown that vegetable juices and milk produce an inhibitory effect with respect to NA synthesis in vitro and in vivo, however, food products with high content of fat intensify amine nitrosation.

[The microcirculatory bed of the myocardium in experimental embolism of the branches of the pulmonary artery].

Experiments were conducted on rabbits to appraise the condition of the myocardial microcirculatory channel (MCC) in embolism of branches of the pulmonary artery and to determine the dynamics of changes in the MCC with explanation of the mechanisms of their compensation. Mobilization of nonfunctioning capillaries in the healthy myocardium was revealed in the early postembolism period. Compensatory reaction of the thebesian drainage from the 1st to 7th day after the embolism was demonstrated.

[Problem of providing health services to the population: a practicing physician's view].

In order to be an active and creative worker and to withstand ever increasing pressure of the environment every individual needs a certain level of health and a certain adaptation potential. This level of health should be maintained and promoted in every possible way. Otherwise the rise in morbidity and mortality of population, the reduction of expectation of life and deterioration of genetic fund is inevitable.

[Combined osteosynthesis].

The combined osteosynthesis with a metallic pin and screws from a homobone was employed in 15 patients. This kind of osteosynthesis is recommended.
